Parsers make you stupid

I play monk. Lately in A4 I am trash talked for being low in DPS. Notes for A4 say do not get close to others due to splash damage, that slows me down. Run away from the leg to get the giant flowing balls, one, two balls because I changed to Fists of Earth (oh no the monk is in fists of earth let's trash her), sometimes 3 balls or not oops I'm dead. Yet you, parsing tank are still on the leg wailing away. Then the dolls, oops gotta stop and go save the clerics cause you, the parser buddy of the tank have got to keep that DPS up for your parser. Then of course time for the ride down the tube. It's not about DPS it's about mechanics. Probably why we wipe.

Why not.. Make a cross server blacklist. Make a blacklist that works in the group. Make a mute function so people do not have to listen to being trashed.

Parsers are nice, but give people tunnel vision. I used them in WoW forever. But I refuse to use them here. I enjoy this game for what it is.

Yoshida just needs to step up his game and exclude any third party software usage outside the game. As a PS4 player, I would have loved to have a Parser program to see how much dps I pull on a job specific class. Not only will I actually hit the dummy more often, but I will also learn how to maximize my dps to the full extend. I don't care about other people's dps, so basically I don't need to ''see'' their numbers. So Naoki Yoshida, if you actually CARE about your fans, please do the right thing and give us the option of a Parse program.

And those are the people you just ignore. Even if it weren't for parsers, people will find someone to blame for DPS being low, and it will obviously be among the 4 actual DPS.

On the positive side however, if you're running a parser, you can easily defend your case if you're actually keeping up in DPS. Parsers have their positive, and their negatives, it's about the person who's using it.

For example there are times in A1, on both Faust and Oppressor, I'm holding close to 900 DPS as a Drk. More often than not I'm either at the top of the chart (For the duration of my TP), or close to it. If things are dying when they should, idc if people are below me even if I'm a tank. If they're not, I'm going to tell the DPS that they need to step it up a bit, and if someone is low enough to where you'd expect them to still be level 50, I'm going to tell them that they need to step it up too. How you react to that depends on how things escalate from there on out.

God forbid you tell some people that they need to step their DPS up a bit, they act as if you just cursed their entire family.

While I agree that ragging on ANYONE'S damage in faceroll content like A4 normal is idiotic, the best DPS are able to put out good numbers WHILE handling mechanics.

Someone just gave me grief in Fractal Continuum because his parser told him I wasn't putting out enough damage on my White Mage. -_-

You only need to stay away from the MT to avoid splash damage and the first attack in the last phase boss rotation (I forget what its called). You shouldnt be getting orbs as monk. You should shoulder tackle to the adds, it shoudnt lower your dps. You may loose your stacks comming out the tubes, but its possible to keep them if you time your attacks right. The between leg phases sometimes you cant help but loose your stacks.

Ultimatly your issue with the tank has nothing to do with parsers, they were simply a bad player, good players who use parsers will understand why someone might have lower/higer dps based on mechanics.

I mean sure you can use them if you dont talk about it, but now I see parser this parser that on forums so im wondering if theres been a new rule?

Also, what a douche to comment on someones dps like that. I mean, if I noticed someone wasn't doing their job right, I would subtly imply that they miiight want to use other spells than ruin 1 (i hate summoners in dungeons :C)

Techically not, but as long as you don't go hating on other people because of their numbers, Squenix doesn't really care.

Firstly, taking orbs should be tank's duty. Tank can take 3,4 at the same time with CDs, and the rest will be share within party. Melee do not need to go out and take orbs unless it's right next to you, for that is dps lost. Even when you want to take orbs, as melee 2 orbs are the limit. If the party don't do the mechanic, they will wipe. let them wipe for a couple times they'll realize, if not, just go for another party.
I main mnk too, and I assure you MNKs will dominate the dps chart if you play it right. Don't let those who don't play the class drag you down. I see Parse as a tool to make a better player, not a thing to harass others players.
