    Yes, because you can simply count potency.

    I agree with Warlyx... if you read/watch a guide on how to play your job, and then manage to follow that guide, why would you need a parser to do good DPS? If you follow the guide, you know you're doing good DPS.

    EDIT: to expand on that, you ofc can't just know your rotation and then get high DPS on all fights, but seeing a DPS number shouldn't affect how you develop as a DPS. If I need to do 100 DPS for a fight, it's not like I just pull something out of my hat and do more DPS, I know what rotation/priority to use, and simply try to constantly follow that while doing mechanics.

    My parser have helped me get even higher DPS, but that's simply a competitive thing, and you don't need it to get good DPS. To get very good DPS like you see some hardcore groups get, you probably need someone in the group to have parser to really get the most out of your job, so I do think there needs to be an in-game parser for the console players.

    So it can be an excuse for hardcore groups without a single PC player, but otherwise it's not an excuse.
