To me, a bunch of OHKO mechanics is artificially difficult. I'd rather have content about playing my class really well than figuring out what a bunch of nonsensical markers are supposed to mean...
That's exactly how a parser is used by an average player. It's hard to improve when you see absolutely no feedback. All you can do is blindly practice a rotation. You cannot try to omit things and see how it turns out. You cannot experiment with the rotation to answer your own doubts. It's like trying to practice basket shooting in the dark with only a TV showing you the right posture, but you can't see the basket, you can't tell if it went in or not.
Yes you can learn a rotation and practice until you can do it half-asleep. But when mechanics comes into play and you don't really understand it because you never experimented with the rotation, you will break your own dps.
Just like in real life, people learn things in different ways, in a MMORPG, some people need that feedback. Don't be so quick to judge others. That attitude is only going to turn people defensive and you end up not helping at all.
It's a "I'm I good enough yet?" tool.
More stuff, nothing crazy.
A1 New Mechanics in total: Hypercompressed Plasma, Magic tank buster does 25k unmitigated
Resin Bombs now linger where they're fired for a decent amount of time.
Gunnery Pods when fired by both Oppressors do about half health on everyone most times.
4 Nuke Lasers mean 4 adds that have to be killed in 4 specific places.
Resin is fired during adds if there is not big burst on them.
Resin is fired during jumps, one at a time possibly at random targets.
Jumps land in opposite corners, then together, then opposite = enrage afterwards

I never said the current way they design encounters weren't artifically difficult too..I just said dps checks were..Of course mechanics that just require memorization are artificially difficult. Randomization and intelligent AI would be actual difficult. And once you learn to play your class..Unless they nerf or buff..your always gonna know how to play your class. So your not doing anything new...
Personally i wouldn't mind content that goes away form the norm and i don't use my class at all...

The problem with randomization is that it is not diffcult either, it is just bad RNG that screws you. You can either get lucky and get 4 clears in a row or get unlucky and die because Boss spammed tank buster. With no regards on players skill or whatever. I think the level of random that Shiva and Odin had was nice, they should do more of that.

This. A million times this. So many players in my FC on PS4 thinking they are amazing, when their dps is just so abysmal and they have no idea. This is a great time to ask for an official parser again.
Lately, with interest in our FC to do the raids properly (we're very casual bunch of working adults and varsity student types), I started to parse our FC members because I know our dps suck. What I saw wasn't suck. It was abysmal. In our BismarckEX tries I as PLD full VIT (our healers like it more) was doing only 500dps yet ranked 3rd in encounter DPS. Our top DPS does 600 or so in BismarckEX. We're all at iLv170+. No need to say we have not made it to phase 3 yet.
Half our FC play on the PS4. I can't afford to babysit 4 different dps jobs that I don't play and expect to turn them into top players. If there was an in-game parser, at least they could practice on their own. They want to improve, but the tools are simply not there...
And whats wrong with;
-We hit Enrage, we need to do better.
-We hit Enrage, Lets come back with better gear.
-We hit enrage, are the Healers comfortable doing some DPS?
-We hit Enrage, Lets try a different strategy.
Why exactly do we need to little magic number to tell us where we went wrong?
Learning a fight means more than just knowing what the markers do.
Figuring out the best way to maintain maximum damage on target while also dealing with mechanics is 'learning the fight'.
Trial and error combined with repeated attempts and group communication is all we need to clear content.
