Please, no more dungeons to progress the main story

Coming back to FFXIV after a long break, I've experienced two days of frustration as I've tried progressing the main story line.

I've had to do snowcloak, keeper of the lake, and chrysalis. My main complaints are these, Square:

#1 - I have to research mechanics for these bosses. I've played every kind of game under the sun, and I'm tired of having to do homework in order to complete something as necessary as a main story line.

#2 - The frustration of dying and taking the blame. I play a WHM primarily, and if I die, that's a party wipe.

#3 - There's too much stress when you're made to feel like you can't learn without being barked at, blamed, and ditched.

#4 - If I choose to go DPS I'm now sitting in the queue for however that much longer. Not only that, but I get to play in a way that really isn't my top choice.

All I really want is to not have to do these difficult fights in order to progress the main story line.

1. We all did these fights fresh to didn't have to research anything to win. Most of the time it was just one or two wipes to learn
2. Price you pay for wanting to play tank or healer. People aren't playing this jobs because it's a stress free, easy role to do.

Listen, I know a lot of people like a challenge. I do, I have no problem with any of the main story dungeons. I did most of them blind as a WHM. It doesn't make me special or good. Some people are not good. They deserve to be able to play the main story without doing group content if the want, let them watch all the cut scenes, receive less rewards and let them progress. I don't like that others are being forced to feel bad about themselves because they are not good at group mechanics, or just slow learners, people have no patience anymore. Allow these people an option to skip if they want and still see the story, it wont hurt anyone and they will not be harrassed.

No one expects anyone to research "Dungeon" content. EX Primals, sure. Coil bosses, sure. Dungeons? No. And if you throw up the tag "Hi this is my first time." or "Hi I haven't been able to clear this yet." most people are pretty understanding about it.

There - that's a good, sensible attitude. Those of us who don't enjoy group content still pay, and help fund it for those who do. Let us progress our story in a manner that is comfortable for us, and we won't be cluttering up your groups, causing you to mutter about bad players (see some other topics) or hindering you in any way. Ought to be a way for everyone to enjoy the game, not just folks who like to group.

Actually, now that I'm getting through HS and doing some of the "solo duties" that appear for the MSQ...rather than a skip why not just have a solo version of some of these instances? No loot to be seen. If you want loot, you have to do the "normal" version of the dungeons. But if you just want to clear MSQ they could offer something akin to that. Though I'm not sure how primals or or the Castrum and Praetorium would be handled.

dungeons are allready easy, you dont need a "i cant die" mode.

I've gone into every dungeon and trial thus far (only just hit level 57) blind and have only really wiped 2, maybe 3 times. Noone's gone ragequit with Vote Kick or Vote Abandon and we've cleared them in good time. And I'm a "filthy casual" (did I say I only just hit level 57? In one class, no less, nor have I even unlocked one Extra Job). If I can do it, then so can anyone else. Just have to pay attention. And before anyone says, "But you're playing Bard, you can dance all over the place." I've been giving Minuet a thorough workout. No dancing for me.

So how exactly would it harm you if there were solo options for people who are helping to fund all of your hand-holding togetherness content? I don't think it would hurt you one bit! There are many, many reasons why people who don't like instances or raids still enjoy this game.

It would take a lot of time and effort (that could be spent on other things) to redo and redesign all the content for solo play. And for what? 1% of players who aren't the target audience? If you can't cope with a few compulsory, easy dungeons, then no, I don't think it's the game for you. Play if you want, but expecting the devs to divert their time from new content to rehash old stuff for solo play is ridiculous. EVERYTHING would have to be retuned and changed.
