Please, no more dungeons to progress the main story

Coming back to FFXIV after a long break, I've experienced two days of frustration as I've tried progressing the main story line.

I've had to do snowcloak, keeper of the lake, and chrysalis. My main complaints are these, Square:

#1 - I have to research mechanics for these bosses. I've played every kind of game under the sun, and I'm tired of having to do homework in order to complete something as necessary as a main story line.

#2 - The frustration of dying and taking the blame. I play a WHM primarily, and if I die, that's a party wipe.

#3 - There's too much stress when you're made to feel like you can't learn without being barked at, blamed, and ditched.

#4 - If I choose to go DPS I'm now sitting in the queue for however that much longer. Not only that, but I get to play in a way that really isn't my top choice.

All I really want is to not have to do these difficult fights in order to progress the main story line.

    That's all.

You don't need to research anything. Dungeon boss mechanics are simple enough to learn by trial and error, or by simply telling your party that you're new and asking what to expect. I can probably explain the mechanics for every dungeon boss fight in a few lines of text and never had a problem explaining them to new players if they'd just ask. If people are being rude and barking at you, they're the ones that are wrong.

Are you not in a FC that is willing to run these with you? We've made it a point to drop our own progress in HW to stop and help our FC members who are catching up over the last few days. The dungeons aren't hard, but it's definitely easier when you have someone giving you a quick rundown of the fights (none are so complicated that you need to watch a video or read a web page, honestly.)

Sooo, you are complaining that there is too much to do?
Or is it just to hard for you?
Let's remove challenges so everyone can play together all the time.
Oh wait, then there would be no reason to do anything.

I think he's talking about towards the future. Right now it's not an issue since they're EXP dungeons more or less. But since we're capped, everything from this point on will be "farmed" until the newest dungeons come out.

There are mechanics in dungeons but none that require lengthy videos or walkthroughs... most bosses usually can be explained in a sentence or two.
Personally I go into dungeons blind, and if there's something in the end I still don't understand I'll look it up. (And yes, that's coming as DPS, so sitting through those queues is my specialty).

Must say I don't have the guts to go in as healer first, for anything.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.

Honestly no offense but this whole point you're making sounds counterproductive and kinda dumb. You're playing an MMORPG and complaining you dislike sections where you have to work together with other players to continue playing? If you can't mentally handle working in groups of people then you probably shouldn't be paying these types of games imo

Exactly, most players experienced in a dungeon's mechanics are happy enough to explain the mechanics/strategy of a fight if you just ask (sadly you'll still get a few arrogant elitists whose answer to that is "Go watch the video!", in which case, to just ignore them and try your best.). Not to mention there is now the Echo buff that kicks in if you fail a dungeon/trial battle enough times too which should make things easier.

Either way, dungeons and boss fights (trials) are a Final Fantasy game's bread and butter for story progression, so they're here to stay I'm afraid. Running them with friends/FC/ls mates does help make it a lot more bearable though. Don't despair! You're almost at the end of 2.55 (and thus, the start of Heavensward)! Only the Steps of Faith await you now (which has been nerfed and is so much easier now than it was originally).

    1) You don't have to research anything. The dungeon bosses have easy enough mechanics that you can figure out very quickly. And it's even easier for a healer since you mostly just need to worry about healing and staying out of ground AoEs. Tanks have it the worst when they're doing it for the first time.

    2) Why are you dying?

    3) All you have to do is say it's your first time when you start the dungeon. The vast majority of people are understanding and will talk you through.

    4) The problem I'm seeing here is you say that you like healing and want to heal, but you're dying... what makes you think you won't die as a DPS?
