Wait until you do the GC hunts that require a dungeon. You think msq que times are horrible.

I totally felt like this just now in DD. First time in there, and though I read about it so I'd be prepared, the aoe was a bit much! And then I completely embarrassed myself by forgetting about LB. :-(
OP, I get it. I don't really like the enforced grouping and all that to progress the story, but I do see why it's there and it's necessary.
Group content is just not my favorite thing, and it stresses me out, but it's far and away better here than in the MMO I just left, because the community here (so far) has been great. The community over there would have heaped expletives on my head and cursed my mother and father to the eighth hell if I forgot something and/or died and the group would have dissolved in anger and rage quitting after the first wipe (not my fault!) if I'd had a run there like I just had in DD here.
I always run dungeons for the first time as a dps, though usually a ranged dps because it's easier for me to see what's going on with the encounters and such. I just got started here with the dragoon and really liked it, so there it is. FF makes it pretty easy to see the aoe attacks for the most part, so at least there's that. :-)
This lady gets it (having anxiety as well, I must be masochist for playing WHM :P ) as for those who say it's really easy... well it may be for you, some people take longer to pick things up and learn stuff, people are different (shocking I know!) As Adire said, keep at it OP, healer forums are great for giving advice and support. Keep practicing, if you love healing, don't let anyone put you off!

1. You really don't. At least one person in the dungeon has done it before, and for the most part there are ever only 1 or 2 one shot mechanics, and most are conveniently marked with a huge orange or some coloring to let you know to avoid it.
2. You are a WHM, heal yourself and avoid AoE (see bullet 1)
3. I go in as a healer fresh each time, and never once have i been kicked or made to feel bad. Ask if you are new and most will gladly help since you being new to the dungeon for the first time will grant bonus XP. Most players will want to keep you to get that bonus.
4. If you want to go in as DPS because it is easier, there is a price to be paid for it. There are far more DPS players then healers and tanks.
The main story is just that. Do not think of FF as most other MMO's FF is very very very much story driven, so enjoy the story.
this, you want us to only solo stuff on the world map?

Sorry i totally disagree here. Dungeons have been awesome to play during the main story.. and im also sorry but if you are having trouble doing these without having to read up on them, either your not talking to your team mates or your not a very good player. they are pretty easy to understand through trial and error

i understand your struggle, but i think that SE would be stupid to change the games mechanics because you guys cant function with groups well. Thats a personal problem. This kind of mmo just may not be for you. This lady gets it (having anxiety as well, I must be masochist for playing WHM :P ) as for those who say it's really easy... well it may be for you, some people take longer to pick things up and learn stuff, people are different (shocking I know!) Did you read the entire post? If not, in summary:
Micropanther and I are supporting the current setup in the game. We want them to keep doing MS dungeons and see them as a pro rather than a con.
Yeah as Adire said, we both feel there should be no changesWhen you got anxiety, you tend to really push yourself to do stuff and challenge your fears, so you bring that mindset in game
Even if we suck donkey balls at something, we get right back in the saddle lol. Most of us who do have issues always find ways to work round stuff
I totally agree with you btw!! Not the last sentence, you can get stuffed :3

Did you really just call keeper, snowcloak, and chrysalis difficult?
Let me try to hold back the laughter for a second.
We all had to do it. If you're new, tell your party you are new, and there will usually be someone more than willing to explain stuff to you.
