as a new player to the game that only started playing less then a week ago because people were saying good things about it I am really more amazed then anything that you poor guys think this is strange at all that they would give compensation for something like this both of the last 2 games I played would credit players with free days if there was almost any kind of problem/extended downtime
Wow the game I came from ended up giving like 3-4 days free when the last xpac came out to everyone and I never even had a problem at all my self but from what I was told a lot of people could not log in to the servers because there were full
That's some serious run-on sentence action.as a new player to the game that only started playing less then a week ago because people were saying good things about it I am really more amazed then anything that you poor guys think this is strange at all that they would give compensation for something like this both of the last 2 games I played would credit players with free days if there was almost any kind of problem/extended downtime

...and as others have stated the compensation is less than 50 cents. I find it obnoxious that someone would even waste their time complaining about it. If any sort of compensation is given, I would consider it a courtesy, but it should hardly be expected. It's schedule maintenance in order to provide us with better content. Accept it for what it is.

People having problems logging in when the servers are meant to be back up is unexpected extended downtime, this is scheduled and expected.
For an example of when there was unexpected problems for a prolonged time, take right as Realm Reborn launched, where we did get compensation in the form of a week free sub time.
You know how most customer service lines say "This call will be recorded for blah blah blah" at the beginning? I really really want to hear the recording for this one.
"Hello, I'd like to be reimbursed for my lost game time on the 18th of June, 201- Yes. Yes I know there's an expansion, but I pai- Yes. No, I understand. Yes, 43 cents. Why are you laughing? I demand that I get my mone- Hello?"
I find this a completely reasonable request.
...
They should also have compensation for the extra $ I'll spend on internet data to download Heavensward. And also compensate me on an individual basis for the money I spent buying Heavensward.
Also OP I would like YOU to compensate everyone in this thread for the time we wasted reading your thread.
To the people that wonder about entitlement hounds. A lot of retailers have it in their head to pay people to shut up and go away. They do not want to satisfy or help you. This has lead to a large percentage of North Americans at least that they think they are entitled to the moon. Heaven forbid they don't have your super mocha whatever. I have to stand and listen to you yell at the cashier and the manager
It is fine to expect quality and prompt services within a companies means. Now I have no idea about how that works for major software and hardware upgrades. But when they do structural work for phone lines, power lines, or any major utility we are notified in a reasonable amount of time and are entitled to nothing.
Square isn't shy about giving compensation when it's due. During the mess that was the original launch week they compensated us with an extra week of free play time. But that was an issue they weren't prepared for nor anticipating. I mean, how could they when the previous incarnation was bleeding players like a sieve. This is not that. This is scheduled, and well in advance I might add. Heck, months if you count the very announcement of the launch date and Early Access. This attitude that any downtime must be compensated is the very image of entitlement.
Append: This is also beating a dead horse as the originator stopped posting on page 1.
