It is for now, but everyone except the tanks are confirmed getting more potency per second of aggro. They pull ahead like crazy now, but I wouldn't be surprised to see more DPS in the xpac having to actually use Quelling, Elusive, and the new NIN ability more often. Probably not multiple times per fight or anything, but I still think the aggro lead tanks have now will shrink a bit.

I expect some aggro management too, though I hope it's not to the extreme you describe. Any time they've adjusted tank enmity generation that I can remember, it's been a buff. The aggro lead they have now is something that was rebalanced from patch to patch, probably to compensate for gear discrepancies that won't exist when we're all in AF2 and... Lightdark.

my guess is that Ninja skill will only be used as a sort of counterbalence to allow the tanks to use solely, or at least more often, their dps rotations while tanking, thus increasing party dps.

there's obviously going to be some case by case uses for it as you mentioned, i was going for a more generic use though.

MNK is officially the most awesome job in FFXIV.

That's not the point of this post though. Take a look at the abilities on the hotbar, notice that none of them cost TP...

Unless they have completely changed their formula for 3.0, this means all of those abilities are oGCD.

Elixir Drive for sure is oGCD, like we can see, but the others are too most likely.

The 2 last abilities on the hotbar looks greyed out IMO, or they just have some weird dark theme... Could very well be Tornado Kick and Forbidden Chakra(cause they require stacks)

Yeah, them all being ogcd was the second thing I noticed in that picture(the first being that elixir drive is easily the best attack ever). Chakra being gcd never made any sense, so I can only wonder for the next week how long its cooldown will be.

they had already confirmed that chakra is ON the GCD, it just doesnt have a TP cost, i believe the same can be said for the change form skill

There is ofc a possibility of that (only those 2 abilities though), but has it really been confirmed? I've only seen it being mentioned by 1 single source so far, and that's the PCgamesn guy that everyone questioned in the first place.

There is still the fact that in the job video, the MNK does Rockbreaker -> New buff ability -> Snap Punch, and use a stopwatch on your phone or something, you'll see that there is only 1 GCD between Rockbreaker and Snap Punch. Either that's not Chakra(highly doubt that), or Chakra is oGCD

i believe it was mentioned in the last live letter, but either way, as far as the PCgamer guys goes, he was a main monk, and it sounded like he didnt really care much about the other classes, hence why his info on theirs was a little short coming.

also, the animation timing is fine for that particular skill being on GCD

With increased Skill Speed, and the fact that they probably didn't spam the buttons for that video, might make what I said useless, but rather use the stopwatch for just the wait between the new ability and Snap Punch, even with slow reaction from me, I'm only getting <1.4 seconds between them, and I really doubt we will see that massive of an increase in Skill Speed

EDIT: Also, yeah I trusted that guy to begin with too... but he contradicted himself a couple of times when he answered in Reddit later for example, and he didn't seem too sure about a lot of things. Not saying I'm 100% sure this is how it's going to be, but there is some pretty good evidence that at least the ability in the video is oGCD, whether that's Chakra or not is another thing
