Until this page and dev didn't even reply a single post...
Honestly? We probably won't get one. This will be yet another thing the devs will ignore and hope it goes away, and it'll pop up again the next time they release female exclusive gear and unisex gear as part of a set. Stick your head in the sand and ignore it but it won't go away if you keep repeating the same action over and over again, SE.
Yeah, they only give priority with some "QoL" things that majority people complain about. And I doubt this will gonna end like thread of "Bunny Suit for male or riot"Honestly? We probably won't get one. I don't care for the thong look at all myself, but I'm not going to act like my personal taste is somehow superior to others. Shall we all personally consult you about our glamours? You realize as far as aesthetics are concerned, it's a subjective opinion, right?
I still fail to see what harm it does to run one's character around a fantasy land as whatever and in whatever one pleases.
Half the arguments in this thread are "but muh eyes." Wat? Are you literally getting eye damage from Jerry because he's in a dress? He must be omnipotent.
Q20: Will we ever be able to send tells from within an instanced area?
A20: While the feature can be implemented, it’s currently masked. It’s currently masked because we would like to prevent players from harassing each other just because they know they would never party together in the future. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully as we move forward.
Can you please define "Feminine wear" and what the difference between "gender neutral with a feminine flair" and "Feminine wear" is? Like the coliseum shawl have a strap covering the chest on the men, the same folded hood, sure the skirt is shorts.. But this is a game where your character can look like this (Like seriously, Coliseum shawl + Subligar and you've basically got the girl's outfit) http://cdn.ffxipro.com/images/ss/ful...p6Xde7qTId.jpg or this https://epcrua.dm2301.livefilestore.com/y2pjfWOPf_3Vklr5Jk_w3Zz6iTy7F3Xasu86miWrapZAoTlRfP8xT8y8Qk8aBfScV4SSY2f7e7jDrRRCaRd1ek7TCWNw9Ew3HMxY75nGWI5iUk/FFXIV_Equality_005-670x376.jpg?psid=1 and those are far more effeminate than what the OP. This is a game where you can run around naked (Or in a subligar and whatever other revealing top) killing succubi and dragons with your same sex "Bonding partner", I doubt SE really worries about keeping things totally socially acceptable, FFXIV is a cash cow, I doubt some men in dresses is going to even come close to kill that.
You also realize the point of "Shall We Dance?" isn't "Hide everything because it's embarrassing and that's not how we do things in Japan!", right? It's "Do what you like, even if you might get ridiculed for it." Like.. The main character even has a happy ending where he and his wife take up ballroom dancing together.
Yes, which is why Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, the manga that has an entire island of Okama (Aka very masculine folks in incredibly effeminate clothing), hides behind the fake name, Eiichiro Oda. I'm sure those who work on Shonen Jump always have to worry about those darn Okama in their most popular manga.. Or all those animators working on One Piece have to worry about going to get a new job and saying "Yeah, I worked Toei Animation.. One Piece specifically. .. Yeah the one with the Okama." That is not something they've got to worry about, so why would a former SE employee do that? Plus Kuja in FF9 looks just as effeminate as Cloud did in FFVII (More so IMHO), so I don't really see where you're coming from.
Seriously yeah, it's complaining just in a vague hope that the devs will pay attention, just like some of the other threads I've been frequenting >_> I really wish they'd at least tell us a "Sorry no can do for x, y, z" or a "Sorry, we'll be adding it in when we can in 3.01" or something.Honestly? We probably won't get one. This will be yet another thing the devs will ignore and hope it goes away, and it'll pop up again the next time they release female exclusive gear and unisex gear as part of a set. Stick your head in the sand and ignore it but it won't go away if you keep repeating the same action over and over again, SE.
It's a shame really. While I doubt I would actively wear this outfit, I would love to have for more unique glamours.
As for the argument about the dress of "it's feminine", it is mostly incorrect. I design and make period costumes for plays and events and I can honestly say that while these classic middle-eastern outfits are a bit on the fiction side of accuracy - they have colored cloth that would only be available to the rich and royalty - both these outfits are technically "unisex". Both outfit types where worn by both genders - although you'd be more likely to see gold threads and jewelry on courtesans and men and women of ill-repute or on popular performers.
