It seems to me that they are changing things to make it easier to craft things early on. I think a valuable compromise would then be to make low level synths very easy with only a few easy to acquire components. Higher level items could then increase complexity, forcing the crafter to acquire rarer/harder to acquire components. Developing this progression based system may be able to satisfy multiple parties.

I can only hope that this is so. However, the following quote from their post indicates that this is not the case: "In addressing this issue, as a general rule, new recipes will no longer consist of parts."

They did not say : "Low level synths will no longer consist of parts, with increasing complexity as class rank increases." This, to me, indicates that this is the general course.

Crafters and Gatherers as full jobs is just one of the many many many many many things Tanaka said without actually thinking of how he would do it.

As of now I cant craft for more than an hour without falling asleep. I find it weird to see so many crafters complaing about the changes while every single crafting guide I've seen recomends you to watch TV or download a movie.
When the majority of the playerbase has to find something to entertain themselves while playing a videogame there's something terribly wrong with that videogame.

These sir, are opinions, I believe. In your opinion, what are "most players who craft"? Perhaps you feel they are players like you, who appear to have focussed on the combat classes, only taking crafting classes to rank 10? Perhaps players that are primarily combat-oriented, and just want to craft in order to make gear for themselves?
So you think countering opinions with assumptions is a good argument? The majority of players period are casual, not hardcore elitists. I actually have several crafts over 10, thank you. I would do more, but I like to do everything, not just one activity. Also, everyone I know in game synths and does combat. Because we like to do multiple things, not ocd over one thing. My experiences in making stuff have been for fellow LS members who have asked if I had the skills to make an item for them since they couldn't find any in the MW. Having 7 of 8 parts, and not being able to find or make the one part is irritating, no matter who you are. Hell, I have at least 2 LS mates that are obsessive crafters and even they bitch about the ridiculous material requirements. Good for you that you like unnecessary complexity of rank 5 gear.

Further, none of the classes in this game where meant for elitists, but to be accessible to EVERYONE. Do you get it yet? Not just combat monkeys, not just mass producing OCD crafters, but so that any character could choose to take up a tool and get to it. Simple activities, be it low level leves, or low level synthing should not pander to the hardcore, elitists players. Ever.

Get off your high horse and quit throwing elitist insults around like a kid having a temper tantrum. Geeze.

And part of that joy comes from the process of making the item. I feel that I have actually accomplished something valuable as a crafter.
And the effort put in to it should match the product coming out. How does making a rank 5 item as complicated as a rank 47 honestly make sense? I agree that high level items should be more complicated. Try reading all of my posts, not just cherry picking.

I apologize. It wasn't my intent to start an argument.

I probably should not have quoted you because the generally negative nature of this forum probably made it seem like I was attacking what you said.

I highlighted what you said because it stood out to me.
I agree that most people would not want to spend hours every day making items. I personally would not either.

But I did want to offer the point that there are people who enjoy crafting more than any other aspect of the game.
