Why is this so irritating to clear? Beside finding a party to run this with, why do people hate this fight? Titan ex was my hill to die on but now I like it also.

Uh oh! We can't have ANY content in this game that requires players to use that white cell-based mass inside their heads! Ooo! ooo! That cause me have the big big headache! Need to make all the things as dumb as possible so that there is no need for them to exercise that waste of space inside their heads.
FFXIV needs to support 123 123 123 123 and only that so that players can continue to watch TV in their rooms while playing the game using only their peripheral vision.

- too many 1-shots from nearly everything Vishap does, including merely stepping on you + Vishap going invisible if the camera moves to certain areas inside his modelWhy is this so irritating to clear? Beside finding a party to run this with, why do people hate this fight? Titan ex was my hill to die on but now I like it also.
- too many adds + very hard to see at times where is safe to stand + combined with the fact that standard practice is to herd everything to one place
- that goddamn turtle
- people are very unaware (evidenced by this very topic, even) of how little damage the cannons/dragonkillers actually do on their own and you actually still need to be outputting a good amount of "standard" DPS on Vishap to be able to win
- it's usually clear if you'll lose even before the 50% mark, yet you must wait out the whole encounter to retry
- roles are mostly superfluous due to all the "click" mechanics
It's just not a very well designed fight; ergo, it's irritating
Storyline content? Yeah, it kinda is. Especially if you're going to essentially lock out an expansion with that sort of content.Because an expansion is bad if you can't faceroll content, amirite?
Difficulty belongs in the optional extreme/coil/alexander/etc. fights, where actual rewards exist.

Yeah, but compared to the raids and em primals, steps of faith is just a casual stroll in the park.
I don't see a reason why everything related to story should be a faceroll content, then maybe lets just make story just be running from NPC A to B and watching cutscenes where our characters fight, doesn't differ a lot from facerolling anyways.
I cant speak for everyone, but to me it's a boring fight similar Stone Vigil HM 2nd boss fight was boring.
But I think the most annoying aspect is that if you wipe or fail to do a mechanic you wont reset from the beginning. You'll have to wait until Vishap reaches the end (which can take a while) until you can do it again. This isn't too bad if you're in a premade since you can vote abandon and try again, but it certainly can be if you're using DF consisting of strangers
Irritating, IRRITATING fight. More like Steps of Fail. Something for story content shouldn't be this dadgum difficult. I'll be glad to see the nerf-bat whack it upside the head. Whack it a few times. And all for all of those who play like Jenna Jameson and LIKE it rough, and LOVE it hard, I'll state this. WoW tried to appease similar hardcores once, it was Cataclysm expansion which almost ended in a cataclysm for Blizzard. Elitism was at an all time high, and after losing over 1 million subs, they had to nerf it.
Steps of Faith needs a nerf. Period. SE can release an EX version with rewards to appease you JJ players, story content shouldn't be this taxing. Contrary to belief, hardcore snowflakes are a minority of the community just the most vocal when something's being made easier. for the majority. Why should it bother you that people are progressing with the story?
From other people's point of view, I look like a monster. I'm a stupid woman who imagines she can create a happy life by piling up her sins
Compare it to the other main scenario fights rather than coil. And even then, I feel like SoF is presented poorly especially for a fight that gets immediately put on DF. That's the problem I have, along side the fact how the previous main scenario fights (HM primals, especially levi) were done before SoF. It's a complete shift in what you're typically used to/doing. The matter of fact is that its still required for the expansion and having a fairly low clear rate is bad design and marketing.Yeah, but compared to the raids and em primals, steps of faith is just a casual stroll in the park.

It's like getting someone to play a platformer (straight forward, perhaps facerolly like levi HM) to something like Dark Souls. (different approach and requiring different concepts from a platformer game)
Ok
Let us compare it to CT1 during 2.1, where a wipe was guaranteed if people didn't listen to the strats and ignored simple mechanics (like 4 man on platform during the Atomos fight). Where people even wiped in the first trash enemies room.
