Because the new person has no contribution to the team? Maybe that person is better than you at video games. Maybe you mess up get knocked off and have no contribution and the rest of the team carries you and clears the instance while you lie dead and do nothing.

You think someone who watched videos till their eyes bled, won't get knocked off? There is no amount of video watching, guide reading, preaching, teaching, that will ever prevent that from happening. Like what was mentioned, one little hiccup in connection, you're dead. But people will immediately blame the player cause they didn't watch a video.
