If ur gonna use that phrase a lot u might aswell be a dps lol.
At least the run is still salvageable if you die cuz when shit goes down as a healer or tank, you know the run is dead due to being too low hp ( for tanks or healers trying to reach hp check ) or healers going oom due to being dead. Only applies if ur group isn't geared to the teeth lol.
Imagine any group with 70% of ppl meeting minimal ilvl entrance.

My mindset can be summed up as: do as much as you can to give yourself the best chance. Obviously, videos didn't exist for the first group to clear Titan so I think they can be excused from watching them Now the reality is that videos DO exist for most content for most people. While adhering strictly to a video limits innovative ways of clearing content, videos are very effective at demonstrating fight mechanics so you at least have an idea what to expect. As fights get more and more complex, the position of NOT expecting players to watch videos gets less and less tenable (T9 for instance). That being said, DF is totally random so I would completely understand someone who does not meet my high expectations (if watching a video first counts as such). However, knowing there is no realistic chance of winning if a person or persons did NOT watch a video, I would likely stay for a very short amount of time. I'm pretty sure this is not a benefit to the "I refuse to watch a video first" crowd.

Obviously lag is a thing and it happens, but we all know it has become the de facto excuse when someone screws up.

    "Damn this lag."
"Boy there is so much latency on this laptop"
"My internet has been sucking all night"

If it really is the lag, do everyone a favor and don't queue until your connection improves.

Those first groups to clear it weren't in DF. They were in a group with friends who all understood they were new and learning the fight. Once a fight has been out for a while and you are using DF with 7 strangers it is polite to go in knowing what you are doing instead of holding back 7 other players.

The devs can, according to their own testing.

Because they cleared when the content was new, jumping blind to a new fight it's ok, because it's new content. Jumping blind to a fight one year old is incredibly rude and it's very understandable that the other 7 players don't want to forced to deal with it.
Want to jump blind to old stuff? make a learning group in the PF.

No, you are rude. It's still new content for players new to it. It does not matter if it's one year old content to others.

This isnt even about people going into something blindly. It's about there being an actual server-delay between actions. This is a major thing especially for healers, since they cant spot change positions without a delay due to casting and health focusing, like dps can.

"I was out of that" is complete bullshit, it's an excuse and it's a reason, I've been caught by it numerous times, so have friends, thing is, shit happens...

Things I learned to try and combat
the game checks your position every (insert number) point of a second, I think the game also force checks your position every time you perform a move, so don;t fire off a skill while running out of a WotL, i had a bard friend who would move and shoot and constantly die to WotL, until I told him stop performing moves while he ran, they still get tripped up but for the most part, problem was solved.
the other, (apparently) the game doesn't check your position if you jump, checks it on the ground before you jump and updates when you land.

I could be totally wrong on all them, but for the most part they seem to work on surviving the "i was out of that"

I'd rather not treat people as objects, new or old.

I can understand this for people lying their way into pf groups, but its no reason to hate new people with a broad brush. The df is going to be what it is, the culture already set.

I'm more a written article fan anyway.

If you can't be bothered to at least watch a short video or read about the fight, sure, w/e.

But if you don't even have the decency to announce to the group that you are new and have no idea what to do so people can give you a quick run down, you are going to cause everyone in the group head aches or be a complete carry.
