All I got from your post is that you're upset other people don't want you wasting their time. You're right that FFXIV isn't a job. It's a game and games are supposed to be fun. It's not fun to wipe over and over because one person is "lagging." Lagging is in quotes because maybe you are or maybe you just suck but who cares; the end result is the same.

No one cares WHY you are unable to perform your role in DF. They don't care if there's a thunderstorm. They don't care if your on a boat in the middle of the Pacific with spotty internet. They don't care your baby woke up or your cat jumped on your keyboard. If you cannot perform your role in a DF fight properly, all people want to know is if you can fix it/get better so they have a chance to complete the content. People join DF to complete a duty, not be told excuses/reasons why they can't (reasons and excuses are synonymous in DF. Again, no one cares WHY).

If your situation that prevents you from functioning isn't your fault, you have my sympathy, but that does not translate into a carry. People are not obliged to drag along with incapable players just because they have a 'good reason' for failing.

All I got from YOUR post is that you "time" is more precious than RL incidents. I mean yeah if something is an issue that happens repeatedly, it needs to be addressed. But that doesn't mean be abusive to people, and quite frankly, you still don't bring sociology BS into a video game. "People don't care WHY you failed..." this isn't customer service. If you wipe 1-2 times because of a baby or a doorbell ring, so be it.

tbh... I question the motivation behind this post. Just how many thread are we going to have complain that someone's RL interfered with getting you shinies. Those "failures" don't care about you any more than you care about them. Why should they? They have the same attitude you do. Don't PUG if you hate bad groups so much and don't stand their on your soapbox. No one is obligated to change themselves to help YOUR version of your idealized reality. tbh i think your just as much a failure if you can't get a good party if you want to come and preach for validation on the forums.

If you wipe once because doorbell rings, and you say 'sorry doorbell, I'm good now' there is no difference between that and 'I lagged, I'm good now' 'cat jumped on keyboard, I'm good now' 'was getting a BJ, I'm good now' 'power flickered, I'm good now'.

The reason is irrelevant. The only important part is the 'my problem is fixed now' because if it is a continuous/reoccurring issue, then you are unable to perform your role. If you have some circumstance that prevents you from being a functioning member of a DF team and it doesn't stop, then you just dead weight. It's not the other 7 random DF peoples fault your router sucks or (insert any problem you have on your end). You aren't carrying your weight, so find a way to carry it or you are asking someone else to carry you. That's not evil. That's just truth. If you can't do your job, then you are asking other people to do it for you, regardless of the sob story of why you cant. The reason doesn't matter because the result is the same.

Wow, that's some shallow arsehattery there. I don't join Duty Finder to be that kind of person, I join to run dungeons and raids. No ulterior motives like pushing everyone through to finish within X amount of time/without a single wipe/without a single death. I don't treat my time as more valuable than anyone else, noone should because it's not.

When content first comes out people expect to wipe for hours on new raids or primals (well, not so much primals anymore...). But by month 6 people don't want to have to experience that.

So after 6 months then nobody is privy to the game play that existed in the prior 6 months? After 6 months no new players that have just reached that content is allowed to enjoy the game the way everyone in the prior 6 months did? After 6 months everyone new must watch videos or read guides on their game instead of play it? Because your time is more valuable than theirs?

Expecting one shot clears using the DF is a tad bit presumptuous.

Not that I encourage picking on new players and not teaching them (I love teaching), but when the content came out everyone was on the same page. Now, there is a mix of people who understand the fight and have done it X times, and new players. Those new players do have the option to look up what they're queueing for beforehand, whereas we originally didn't. This is the difference and why some people are frustrated with teaching something they learned a long time ago just to get through it again.

Where did I say any of what your implying? I said people join DF to complete a duty, not to be rattled off excuses why someone cannot complete the duty. Where did I say in record time without wipes? No where. Where did I say my time is more valuable? No where. All i said is if you cannot perform your basic role in a DF, you are asking the other 7 people to do it for you. If you can't do your part someone else has to do it instead or we all fail. That's basic simple logic. No matter how sad the sob story, that fact remains a fact.
