Why that seems unfathomable is beyond me...
What is unfathomable to me is how you can think that the cartel, the one who engineered this conspiracy and that now have full power in Ul'dah, would even let you try to prove your innocence. You're arrested for regicide and treason by the guys that framed you and you expect a fair trial? It would be completly rigged, if you even have one and not a summary execution or a murder in prison.

I still haven't found anyone who could explain where are the sultansworn during all of this and why they let a known enemy of the sultana burst into her chambers with an armed force. If there are suspicions of a murder attempt in the room, shouldn't they be the ones that come into the room. Instead, they don't even know she is dead... Care to use your child-level deductions to explain this?
