Actually, the whole 'keep the vial on you' even though you're about to go visit the head of a state for a private ordiance is a bit silly too. Momodi couldn't of kept a hold of it until after the meeting?

Let's face it, after the whole 'it's not what it looks like!' scene, does the WoL really think a fair trial awaits him/her in a city that is known to be rotten to the core? More so when one of its leaders is calling you guilty from the off without having of even seen an empty vial, or at least first suspecting the person that poured the wine in the first place.
Fighting his/her way out unarmed also is a pretty bad aspect too. None of their options were good, honestly. WoL Dun goofed.

But really, poisoning the Sultana? That's pretty audacious. Nobody thought someone would be bold enough to attempt that. Manipulate and out maneuver the Sultana and usurp her throne? Sure, outright murder and a pretty blatant framing? That's kind of beyond the aspirations of a greedy Merchant. Or at least that was the common assumption.

Yeah, I know. Don't get me wrong, I like the story (despite some of the obvious plot devices). I'm just trying to think how differently it could of been handled.

Let's see if that changes in Heavensward, as the tale is supposed to be darker.
    Agreed.
