It's about time to add Coil story mode, isn't it ?

Now here's a topic I haven't seen in awhile.

My stance hasn't changed. A separate story mode with no loot, achievements, unlocks for normal versions of raids, ect. would be a welcome addition to me.
I would also have liked for SE to have left the normal versions of coil unerfed and without echo for groups that wanted to play them at their original challenge level.

I'm pinned as a casual and I still say story without gear/loot anything with practice would not hurt anyone at all...Why? Because I am STILL sitting in I'm ilvl108 SCH and people around my Ilvl in DF still can't get
it together. I wish I was in a static but I don't have a solid schedule and I study to meet around raid times, plus things happen. I've been here since the beginning and I STILL can't beat T5...I'm sad. XDDD!
We can probably get better people in DF when they wanna go and progress for gear and stuff. I still agree to a story mode.

Stop being a child. You are playing a ROLE-PLAYING GAME ... if you want to be immersed in storyline so badly that you have to have that handed to you on a plate as well, then just read a book. That doesn't involve you actually interacting with it at all which is what you're trying to dumb Final Coil down to. Someone has anger issues. Paying a subscription fee means you have the ability to play the game at all. It's an extension of you buying a 60 dollar PS4 first-person shooter game. The fee goes to game development since MMOs are continually evolving. You SEVERELY misunderstand what a sub fee is for. If you pay your fee and do nothing but the bare minimum effort in game (a casual ... AND this term is only derogatory if you make it that way ... you're projecting, it isn't an insult) then you deserve something for what effort you put in.

Raiders put in more time, more effort = they are entitled JUSTIFIABLY to better rewards (i.e., cutscenes and gear) ... You didn't work for it = you have to wait for it until it is no longer relevant content.

The biggest problem I see with Coil and casuals who cannot clear are the mind sets people are in. You are meant to wipe and practice and learn the mechanics, all of them, and you are meant to learn to coordinate with ALL of your party members. (That includes all 7 other party members not just yourself!) If you want the story behind Coil you need to get out of the DF dungeon mindset that SE burned into your head with all these silly easy dungeons. Final Coil is hard, First and Second however, are not.

The problem is that having to wipe repeatedly to practice the fights means that people will unavoidably rage quit or call a vote to abandon. This makes it futile to even try since you're not going to accomplish anything either way. This is why Crystal Tower is much more fun because there's a much lower chance of the entire run being rage quit by majority vote.

Yes, the constant /a shouting and whining about people is much more fun.

I think the biggest problem with people not being able to clear Turn 5, Turn 6, whichever turn, is people unwilling to learn and adjust to strategies and to deal with mechanics. I remember at release Titan hard mode was really difficult, coupled by the fact that the HP check was quite high ( for the time, at least, 3.2k HP to be safe was REALLY hard to get without a lot of farming..), but what one of the developer responses was simply "We suggest zooming out your camera as far as it will go, it makes seeing plumes and landslides much easier" or something to that effect.. effectively telling the players to "Get good". They really can only nerf so much of coil before it just becomes a waste of time and resources to change it..

The mechanics that are "one hit kills" in T5 now are like, twisters only. Nothing else will one shot you anymore with i110 gear, or i120, or EVEN i130 gear. At i100 and 20% echo you can 2 stack fireballs. Back at sub i90 during t5 progression, 4 stack fireballs would hit you for 90% of your HP most of the time. Now, the only worrisome mechanic is twisters, which, at i110 you get pretty much a single twister in the entire phase. At i130 you almost burn the phase SO FAST you don't even get the dreadknight anymore.

That t12 cut scene when you beat it. Holy cow so good. It made every minute spent dying in that turn worth it.

Totally! I didnt care about the loot until I had seen that! It was what kept me motivated every wipe to finally see it! The gearing up from t10 n 11 where just to get to that cutscene XD

Raiding does not take an exhobitant amount of time for the average raider. 2-3 nights a week many raiders run at for a couple of hours. That's it! The only ones that push harder are teh ones trying for world/server firsts. Our static, most work full time, have familes and RL obligations and we work around those each week. We don't pug someone because one member has to work or a RL emergency, we just reschedule another night when everyone is on. Yeah, we are slower clearing, but it doesn't matter. We are pushing t13 hard now, hopefully cleared this week.

Point is, nothing is stopping anyone raiding (outside extreme cases) except themselves. If we can with so many RL schedules to work around with all 8 members, anyone can.

This however is difficult because my hours and days of when i work fluctuate so much that I cant be pinned to a MWF or Sat Sun group. I love this game, I just can't experience it as much as I would love to. This could help out greatly.

I've even thought about watching cutscenes on youtube but I don't know if anyone's done that. >.>;

As I said, Coil does not need people to "put long hours in" unless you are trying to clear asap. I also pointed out that we work around peoples schedules, As an example: usually we can coil on tuesday, this week our first run was on the Thursday due to one member having to work. We wont raid till saturday now. Next week we probably wont be raiding much as one member is going to Amsterdam for a long weekend.

We change pretty much everyweek depending on peoples RL schedules. I bet we aint the only Raid static that does that either. So yeah, long hours, fixed days yadda yadda dont always apply yet people still use them as an excuse of why they can't raid.
