Can someone give me an in-depth explanation why Summoner is arguably the worst DPS?

I still see summoners running around. It isn't the mass exodus that you claim. Honestly posts like these just make the community more toxic towards the class. I was in Odin and a Monk was like "SMN you better try hard. Blame SE for screwing up your class." I was getting parse'd by an FC mate and I was not the lowest DPS on the totem pole. I didn't do as much but I was also right at the cap for Odin.

That's because the Monk knows that Summoner's do low DPS and is the hardest class to maintain damage on. The problem with Summoner is all content is designed around Bursts DPS and since Summoner is DoT it's a built in game play nerf. SE wants to make content harder and more intense so future content will revolve around Burstier DPS making the Summoner useless. Summoner needs more bursts to be competitive in content so SE should reduce the cool down on Enkindle to 30s.
