It does not take "10-15 million gil" to deal good damage. 11 Det has a very small role in your total DPS output.

Yes the tools are easily available.

You were not just talking about "doing good damage". You said "as much damage as possible".
To do that, you would need to max Det.
If you were to do this, right now, on Cerberus, melding only your Det IV would cost you around 10M.

So, I don't agree with that at all.

But I do agree with your last post regarding simply dealing "good damage" and the fact that 11 points of Det is too tiny to make a big difference on a PLD total DPS.


You probably didn't wanted to use "as much damage as possible" quite literally.

Cost of a weapon is definitely a concern in a real life scenario. However, melding DET until you hit tier IV materia and filling the rest out with Crit is still better than Parry.

That wasn't my point.
I just said that spending millions on Det IV to get 11 points of Det isn't something everyone can afford, and won't have a big impact on your DPS anyway.
