Can't edit from mobile, but fairly*
Also apparently the head drops from T11, not T10.

I'm of the opinion that one should gear up around the drops one has, not around a drop that might not happen; I've lost count of how many monk mains I know who never got their helm from T6 throughout all of 2.2 and 2.3 and so got stuck eating bard food.
HQ Wootz Mask with those stats makes a very nice drop-in replacement for the HA Mask of Maiming, pulling ahead by 7 crit and 18 det while retaining the same accuracy. This is ~5 DPS better, and you could even add skill speed if you're feeling frisky. Heck, it's nicer than the i120 poetics helm if you can get the HP elsewhere.
With that in mind, what you ought to do with it is up to your own personal situation, like how hard your group (if you have one) is going after Coil, how much your gil is really worth to you, that sort of thing.
Just got the DRG spear from t13 on our second clear after switching to monk >.<
full thrusts are doing:
~1.8 - 1.9k w/bfb
2.1k w/potion
2.25k with nin buff lol
did a quick parse at the house and was getting about 540 - 550 on the training dummy w/dread ear/head

Gratz man! That's awesome can't wait to get there.
So because it doesn't work for you, you don't recommend it to anyone? LolIf you play on ps3/4 I don't recommend target lock, it does horrible things to the camera angle. Change to classic controls instead of legacy, will give you the strafe movement needed and won't mess up the camera angles.
(maybe it's just cuz I'm lala, but yea, please fix target lock SE)
It's hands down the biggest dps increase I ever gained, just by incorporating target lock. You only need to use it when you move to hit your positionals, then disable it until you need to re apply ID and HT. Normal camera works if you're willing to sacrifice your mobility behind you, which is something I can't do.
Not quite as far as some of the folks here, but currently parsing over 400 dps in every encounter up through t12
Recomendations are typically based on personal experience. I too would suggest classic controls over target lock. You get all the benefits of target lock with the added benefit of better camera control.
you just have to keep in mind that you need to turn around when you want to run backwards :P
I just switch to standard in fights, legacy everywhere else.
No problems. Because I got used to doing it that way. Of course, personal experiences may vary.
@ Grats on Spear Pompey
If it works for you, it works for you. I can't live without being able to pan my camera around without turning my character around. I'm generally one of the folks calling out mechanics around me like t9 dbs, and who needs to stack where for tether charge in t10. It's one of the reasons I can't get used to the normal camera.
To those who have cleared Turn 11, should I be concerned when on a DRG, when I don't have a monk to Dragon Kick for that Critical Nerve Cloud?
Might need an Adlo but it's not so damaging with Soil + Virus that DRG can't live through it. With MNK it's pretty easy.
