Sorry but those QQ ur spewing out only happened in NA servers not JP serversSome players don't listen. Some players are just flat out bad. Some will always be bad no matter what you do, or how good your intentions are.
...and that will never be an excuse for treating somebody like a lesser human being. If any of you call others stupid, retarded, or something similar for not being up to your standards in a video game - I suggest you take a good hard look at yourself. You might not be a problem when it comes to getting through content, but you have no integrity and make the world a worse place.
That's the same shit people pull in high school. Grow up, people.
I still see this all the time, and it drives me nuts. As DPS if there are no marks, yeah I'll go nuts as apparently thats their intention; but if I see an order I follow it, its not hard. Not like two days ago I was tanking snowcloak and still getting a grip on the dungeon, so I was marking mobs to make the run as smooth as possible. Yet here comes NIN hotshot going straight for 2 with full burst, then 4, then 3 and so forth - even going as far as to start pulling for me once (which he apparently got the message when I didn't grab hate off what he pulled). I just sit back and ask 'why?' to myself.
I mean really, not only are you making it harder for the tank to do their job, you're making your own run that much slower by causing chaos. So between acts like that and the already mentioned verbal abuse people throw out, its no wonder we're hurting for tanks. People give it a shot and then get beatdown by the community. I don't give up PLD because it was my fav job in XI, but I can't play it nearly as much as I like before I just get tired of dealing with the people. It shouldn't take resorting to FC only parties to want a decent run, and by decent I mean cooperation among the party. It sure as hell didn't back in XI, though maybe because we actually had something to lose in XI also.

My response is to advise the healer not to heal them as they obviously want to try and solo mobs. let em try. First time, I'll take it back, second time. They want it, they tank it. If they rage after dieing a couple of times, I explain numbers in most annoying way possible. Then they either learn, or rage quit the run to get quickly replaced. As a tank I know what it feels like to be insulted by lousy people. When the game first started I was learning my job just like dps and healers are learning their jobs, sometimes dps do things intentionally to make tanks look bad. How so? Let's say we mark targets in attack order. Why are you attacking 3 and I'm on 1.
Everyone wins. except the nerd rager, but who cares about them? XD
Near every situation I've had players like that, they have been playing as a Lolafail.

Im all for explaining dungeon mechanics and job mechanics if I see people struggling but what happens most of the time (sadly) is I'm either flat out ignored or insulted/sworn at. It really rubs me the wrong way, I try as best as I can to not be condescending or commanding by adding '' or '^^' at the end or asking if they wanted to tips at their job. If I notice they don't speak english Ill sit there for ages finding basic skills and combos using the auto translate with emotes at the end (to try and show that I'm not just commanding them to use it) but alas, usually ignored.
Everyday is great at your Junes~

I like people who take their time to give advice. In your case it looks like the ACN wasn't good at giving advice. However, I rarely meer these people and a DF quite a lot. I more often come across people who don't want advice. Im on chaos server and it's usually people with "F" or "D" checked as language so I take it it's a language barrier. Auto-translation often won't give me a converstation either.
I also have a character on a JP server. The mentality is so so different.. You can see it on the JP an EN forum as well. If there is a hot thread, page 8 can have 70 likes (showing support) where on the EN forums page 2 doesn't even gets attention. It's a cultural difference whether you want to admit it or not.
Here's something I never understood about the player-base on this game: Why don't you ask if they'd like advice first before giving it? It can come across as very pretentious and rude to flat out give unsolicited advice, and adding emotes to the end of it doesn't magically make it better.Im all for explaining dungeon mechanics and job mechanics if I see people struggling but what happens most of the time (sadly) is I'm either flat out ignored or insulted/sworn at. Sometimes I'm just having a bad day and let one person die in a dungeon. That doesn't mean I need to be lectured or given advice on how to play my class. I try not to let my bad day get to me, or get snippy with said person offering advice, because that's not right either, but sometimes, advice is just not needed or wanted and I should be able to respectfully decline it. I don't think people ever take the time to consider that. MMOs have become less about communication and more about how to be the very best, and stepping on toes and egos in the process. As someone who has been playing them for 13+ yrs, this change is starting to irk me. People makes mistakes sometimes, that does not mean they are bad or need to be taught things.

It doesn't help to be mean, people just react badly about it. At the same time it's very hard to talk to someone who won't listen or when you ask if they're new and they say nothing. Maybe they don't have a keyboard..rather than saying if $10 is out of their budget then they shouldn't be playing this game..I also ask just do some emote for me. Then they go in and screw up or you let them know "If you use butchers block alone it won't help you need to use the first two combos for it to activate" or refuses to flash.
Recently I've given advice to a number of new tanks (Search Info showed them as having only 1 job at 50, or only DPS Jobs or no 50s at all).
From MRDs who did not know to use the combos, to GLAs not knowing that Flash was actually generating Enmity, If you take the time to explain what they need to do, most of the time they will try it and learn.
Met a GLA in Haukke on my BLM during lowbie DR recently, He couldn't hold Enmity on anything, even if we gave him a decent headstart. We talked him through various different rotations. Eventually, i decided to double check his gear. Turned out he had a lvl 20 weapon. Thus he found out how important it was to keep his weapon up to date. And managed to hold Enmity fairly well employing the rotations and tips we gave him, despite that low level weapon.
It's surprising how open to advice people can be when you are polite and understanding with them.
Getting condescending or just plain mean about it will cause most people to just consider you a prick not worth listening to.
This is a huge problem on eu servers because I always get the french people that dont speak english even if I am only searching for english people.
So trying to explain to someone how to do their job when they dont evene understand the language is impossible sometimes, even with autotranslate.
So my advice is. If you dont speak english, tick the english thingy off in duty finder.
It ruins runs for others.
However if they understand what im saying and are trying to learn i am patient and will gladly help them out
I can't Like! this enough. Every instance I have personally seen where "giving advice" went downhill was because the person giving said "advice" had no clue how to properly interact with another human in any kind of a civilized, respectful manor. Then you have the camp of people that think they are "helping" by being overly blunt, taking a huge risk hoping that the target player will react favorably. There is no need for this risk.
Keep up the good work, OP. Stay professional.
