You realize a good company's goal is to make as much money as they can right? Rather than just enough to stay afloat...? Also, they literally never took anything way, that makes no sense. Some minions require money, others require you to accomplish something in-game. They never took anything out of the game and put it up for sale, nor are they changing how they give out minions as it's something they've done form the start.Yes but they make money from our subscriptions. It is a success, they are not failing and need to fall back on alternate means to make money. Doing this is simply greed. I would support a game more that gives without asking in return them a company who takes things away from us and then asks for money to get them back
It has NEVER EXISTED AS AN OBTAINABLE ITEM. EVER. The blog you mentioned stated specifically to not pay attention to it because it was just playing with dev tools. Try as you might, you can't pretend that SE is taking content out of the game lol. Good try though. Did you know? The horse and Odin are two separate entities for programming purposes?
(Something else they explained, by the way.)

It's called partnerships and product advertisement, you could see the logos of their partners on the stream and I'm sure on the event floor too, they weren't exactly given out for free and from the kindness of their hearts you know. Both streaming and watching streams on Twitch is also free for all, so that also doesn't really say anything.
I didnt say it was just from kindness. But investors will want a return on this splurging and partners didnt foot 100% of the bill... you know. It's called partnerships and product advertisement, you could see the logos of their partners on the stream and I'm sure on the event floor too, they weren't exactly given out for free and from the kindness of their hearts you know. I want the "Coke a Cola" chocobo barding and the "Frito Lay" helmet!

You know admission into fanfest and the premium stream had a fee right? Well those fees are usually elaborated to both cover all the costs from said event, including giveaways, travel, rent, etc. and to turn a profit at the same time, they also sold merchandise at the event which means more profits which means more returns, which means no necessity for a cash shop to cover those costs because the bill is already well covered on that front.

What on earth are you talking about? No one has asked for that, nor would they. FFXIV does not need to get players to pay more money. It is not something that must happen. It's not like we have to choose either raise the sub fees, or have a cash shop. Why can't things just stay as they have been? Where is that choice?
Dude, I could not possibly care less about the fan fest or the stream of it. It is essentially a glorified commercial for a game I am already paying for. Their airing of it via Twitch is not charity, it is self-promotion. If I had the choice between "Fan Fest and Cash Shop" or "No Fan Fest and No Cash Shop," I would pick the latter in an instant. I want my sub money to fund the game, not frivolous parties for the few who happen to attend them.

This isn't that hard to understand. There's a difference between buying a soundtrack, a physical disc and it coming with a "bonus" minion in game. Or the CE that came with a DVD and a bunch of artwork, again real life physical things and the bonus minions/mounts. And then buying simply a minion or mount with money in game to be used in game. These items are not a bonus to buying something else, you are just buying these. By making these items only available in the cash shop they are not obtainable in game, that is a downgrade for the players because we have been able to get these items in game. That is taking away some minions that would have been released for free at some point, for effort and now just up in a shop for real money. You realize a good company's goal is to make as much money as they can right? Honestly I can't comprehend how some can be so willing to pay for something that we have been getting for free and should be getting for free since we not only bought the game but then pay monthly. You belittle your own subscription payment by allowing them to charge us more for something we got for free before.
