Cash shop confirmed

What I would not want is for example exclusive items for FF14 Merchandise released in the "cash shop" like let say bahamut minion... 50/50 about it. Happy everyone can get it but how about the guys that bought the soundtrack. Well the soundtrack is worth it but, hey... on the brighter side, I can get minions that I was not able to get before. I hate what they did in the moggle stuff toy, it should not have a minion, now minion collectors are forced to buy the stuff toy even if they don't want to.. I wish FF14 is like the old days not too much cash shop, you just pay sub and EARN every item in game. But I still love the game = )

I'm pretty surprised at the outcry over the cash shop. Of course, though, as the nature of this sub, you guys have to find something to cry about. Atma nerf finally comes? Hold on to your pitch forks, guys, people will be able to buy.... MOUNTS. OMG.

I could not care less about the cash shop, and if they add certain things to it I really like, I'll buy them.

It in no way effects your gaming experience. Get over yourselves.

I think sadly the amount of people defending the cash shop is a sign of the times, we have hordes on both sides but the fact that we have so many people white knighting SE's decisions to cut content and charge for virtual items in a game we're already funding with our subscription fees shows just how successful said shop will be.

In the end SE is a company and will do what they can get away with, and from the positive and adamant defense made by some of the sheep in this thread it's clear that the cash shop will be a huge success. The audacity SE has to pull these sort of greedy actions after me and many other players have stuck with them through both the beginning of XI and XIV 1.0 launch shows their integrity and respect for their consumer is outweighed by their greed for more and more.

We'll have to see how they spin it but I'm fearful for the future of content both in game and gated behind additional fees in the cash shop.

just gonna state my 2 cents on this. I think this is really no different than buying things like the moogle plushie or the art book off the SE store. the reason why is because while some of you argue differently the only ones effected by the stuff in the cash shop are the ones who buy from it. they don't get any game progression. no gear with stats, only superficial things.

thus far they announced some past seasonal event items, minions and a mount. and the only thing besides those would be the
Phials of Fantasia<---some of you arguing against the cash shop think this is ok but the other things are not.
sorry but you can't argue against something like that. it has to be all or nothing.

I for one think so long as they don't go too far with it the cash shop would be a welcome thing.
what I'm against them adding is any gear with stats that that would prove beneficial at any time meaning I wouldn't want them to add the Lightning or Snow gear.
but I would be fine with them adding versions of that gear with no stats.

There isn't any difference. None. People hear the word "cash shop" and freak out throwing around the doom and gloom phrases over and over again without any sort of thought.

It's nothing new. Other sub games that use a cash shop are still running fine and actually pulling more numbers than before, despite people in this thread clearly ignoring that fact.

Can someone actually link me to a source that states that the Odin mount will be exclusively in the cash shop? I'm trying to find one that can be trusted, but I can't find anything apart from forum and community based rumours.

go on go have a look. only 1 item I saw in there that was questionable. see if you can find it. and do try to remember that WoW is still going strong.
as long as SE stays in the direction their shop is going and hopefully doesn't add that questionable item to theirs I'm good with it.

that would be difficult since the cash shop was shown during the Letter from the Producer Live at Fan Festival. I do not recall them saying it or the minions were to be exclusive to the cash shop. though I seem to remember them saying there would be content exclusive to the cash shop so maybe that is where the rumour of that mount being exclusive came from.

I'm just starting to really REALLY wish that the cash shop really evolves to a dungeon unlocking and gear shop, too. Maybe that way, if their playstyle is affected, some people will take away their blindfolds and understand what we're talking about here.

Man, something I've noticed while reading the last 88 pages of this thread is that those who are for the cash shop are generally more rude/immature, their posts almost always have very few likes, and they repeat the same arguments over and over even though they have been debunked.
