SE is a business they are there to make money. They aren't making FFXIV as some form of charity. I can not fault them for wanting to make more money it is their job to do so. This is a good business strategy selling extra items in online games and there is proof that it works well. An example Blizzard released their first mount on their shop they made 80 million in the first day. SE doesn't have as many players as Blizzard but the huge success of their shop shows that it works. Console dlc which SE also does has proven successful as well.

Yes but they make money from our subscriptions. It is a success, they are not failing and need to fall back on alternate means to make money. Doing this is simply greed. I would support a game more that gives without asking in return them a company who takes things away from us and then asks for money to get them back
