Cash shop confirmed

Someone please explain to me what meaningful difference can be said to exist between any of the following for purposes of "S-E is selling purely cosmetic stuff to make money and that is bad because of Reasons":

1.) Adding an ingame minion code to a $50 soundtrack.
2.) Giving the moogle costume to people who spend $20 on the Fanfest premium stream.
3.) Straight-up selling a minion for $5.

1, 2 seem more like a bonus for supporting the game/buying merchandise.

3 seems like a blatant cash grab.

That's just me though.

That's the thing, though. I cannot understand why 3 is seen as different than 1 and 2 in that respect, and your response is basically "it just is".

they need to allow odin mount to be obtainable IN-GAME. I'm very disappointed with this new additions to shop.
The community needs to realize that this is the FIRST step on a future trend. if Odin mount is cash shop exclusive than expect a LOT more cash shop mounts.

Unless I missed it I didn't see half this much complaining when SE locked extra retainers behind a paywall.

Hate the idea of a cash shop of any kind.

Crappy personal housing implementation was the first straw, this is the second. One more stupid decision like this and I'm probably done for good.

Man it seems like 10% of the forum playerbase is one patch away from quitting. Jeez you guys its just a game. I mean I can understand how you feel like you have to get this minions and these mounts but, here is the single most important thing ever to be learned from these forums.

IN ANY MMO ONE PLAYER RARELY DOES/GETS EVERYTHING.

I dont have the bluebird minion. I think it's overpriced. So guess what I did. I made a forum post griping about it.

Just kidding, I ignored it and did content I had fun with.

For the people saying that they would rather things be on the shop and also in the game is straight up lying. I bet if SE said "hey EX mounts can be bought" people would be crying about that and how it isn't fair and that it's throwing down money for something that people should get by just playing the game. Furthermore, the mount (which seems to be the big problem here) is a one time purchase. IF you have so little funds that you can only pay for the sub, then save up and get the mount after it comes out. No big deal.

And they will make more money on this stuff than the 10% who "may" quit and they know it.

Cash shop was going to kill wow, it's still around.

The quality of this game is far higher than most any f2p game i have bothered with, and they also have cash shops.

This model exists because it makes companies money, like it or not it is here to stay.

People will make this cash shop profitable, like it or not, and no amount of howling will make it go away.

Money talks and BS walks.
