Optional items for a game are still part of the game, having those items only be available from a cash shop is a very conscious decision about the direction of the game.

That they really emphasized that they are NOT going toward P2W at all with this feature.

Stopping your subs will only raise questions to Yoshi-p as to why did a lot of people leave the game for? They will have a hard time figuring it out. If you just don't buy the optional stuff they will see plainly that people don't want that stuff.

Anyways, Voice your concerns it's very healthy to do so. However, I do not agree that stopping your sub or anyones sub will solve the "Optional" dilemma.

What you're playing is a video game but what you are paying for, that's VERY important because it involves money, is a service. You are paying for a service. This service includes access to the game.

It's quite clear that there are people now unhappy with the service being provided with the money they are paying.

They are unhappy because of what they think MIGHT happen to the service that they are paying for. As of right now, it's the same. It's basically crying over spilled milk that might get spilled over but hasn't yet, or may not ever happen.

Well I would hate for that to happen as I love this game as much as you, it's why I'm on here trying to reason with the crazy people who think a new shop is gonna ruin their gaming lives. I think they are just looking for reasons to complain, not benefit the game in any way. There are plenty of people that play the game to have fun and they should stick around, the ones that just stick around to find stuff to complain about, I think should leave and take the drama with them.

If it's the cost that's the issue, you have bigger things to worry about if you can't afford a few quid every once in a while.

If it's the fact that others will get nice vanity gear and you won't, suck it up, go get a job and quit crying.

With regards to the Odin mount, look at it this way:
They developed the Odin mount at the same time they developed Urth's Fount Trial.
At some point during the development process the question must have been raised - Do we make this a drop, similar to the Extreme Primal mounts? Or do we put it into a cash shop.
This question WILL have come up during the development process. They have clearly chosen the route that will yield them money as opposed to the more fairer for all option.

People are complaining now because the dev team have always encouraged feedback. Some of us have been giving our opinions on proposed changes to the game since 1.0. Some of those opinions have shaped the game you play now.

Coils is OPTIONAL content too. Doesnt need to be done to advance in the main story. Should they start charging extra for end game raids? Believe it or not poeple play mmos for different reasons and find enjoyment in different things. Because something doesnt effect you doesnt mean it doesnt effect anybody.

Dont want to pay extra for coil? Then DONT BUY IT! Its OPTIONAL after all.
