Just make the odin mount a reward in subs.
That way u r "technically" paying real monies & at some point each player will eventually get it. No cash shop sooooo everyone wins!
Y everyone gotta be so dramatic about it.

I came to this game exactly because it's a P2P game. I don't agree with cash shop even if it is just vanity items. I tend not to trust companies who say this is just vanity items cause as I saw they add more and more items in cash shop later. Also I don't agree with the F2P model. P2P is more honest.

slippery slope.
I'm not keen on the idea at all. Like others have said, getting bonus in-game stuff with actual items (soundtrack, art book, etc.) is fine because it's just an extra. Having to buy old event gear when previously it's been available through the event npc merchant for some gil doesn't feel good (alts, new players, what about the stuff that can be put on the mb?).
And yeah, having to buy cool stuffs with RL money... where does it stop? :/

I don't know what I find more appalling, the fact that SE is actually doing this, or the fact that there are people who actually seem happy about it. First of all, adding a cash shop is a big slap in the face to all paying subscribers. We're essentially being told, "your monthly subscription is no longer enough; you may no longer access all content unless you pay us extra." Doesn't matter if it's vanity or otherwise. For over a year, our subs have paid for us to access the game in its entirety, without being excluded from any content.
The grand majority of you were begging SE to add purchasable Fantasias and extra retainers and even complained when you could only buy a limited amount. Did you suddenly forget about that?

I've never seen anyone in my FC of roughly 130 complain about not getting enough retainers. Same goes to all the big linkshells in which I'm active. I've never purchased extra retainers, nor do I intend to. I've barely known any people who have cared about that. While I don't doubt that there were many people who asked for that kind of additions, saying it's the grand majority is straight up wrong. Regardless, grouping me with that supposed "grand majority" is pointless, given that I never begged for anything like that, or even wanted it. In fact, other than server transfers, which is understandable, I don't think anything else should have a cost on top of the subscription. My previous post explains exactly why.
Vanity. Meaning if you like it, buy it. If you don't, then don't. Considering the majority of the people would have one character and do a one time purchase, it isn't event remotely enough to support the game on it's own. The F2P games can show you this, the cash shop has to have things that players need, and they need them to be bought over and over in order to make any decent money from it.
Way to blow things out of proportion.

Actually, the subscription fee IS enough to support the game. In fact, a while ago Yoshi himself explained why the P2P model doesn't work for a lot of games (his explanation involving investors, look into it if you want). SE can easily run a game without a cash shop. It was done with FFXI for what, 12 years? They're not lacking in funds.Vanity. Meaning if you like it, buy it. If you don't, then don't. Let's see. It's optional. It's vanity. And, to top it all off, it's in every single MMO (subscription based included) on the planet. If your opinion was the majority, this system wouldn't exist.
If more people felt like you, the only way to solve this issue, is to simply not buy anything out of the cash shop. If it wasn't popular, they wouldn't have the bright idea to put it in. Therefore, your crying and moaning about it essentially accomplishes nothing.
Put your money where your mouth is, and things change. Fin.

I don't actually agree with you.
If anyone that doesn't agree simply don't buy things, they'd still put things up for sale because they'd be getting more money than if they'd put them in-game.
The developers want feedback, and that's what everyone should be giving them - especially when you have a problem. Otherwise, how'd they know if people get unhappy?
So let's just discuss this the best we can, throwing arguments back and forth![]()
