And thus the F2P safety net is laid down.
I have no problem with a 'cash shop' like this. Just optional, cosmetic gear for those who want to fork out for it. Looks like the prices will be pretty reasonable too.
On first impressions, it is certainly better then SWTOR's Cartel Market. At least here it looks like you will get exactly what you pay for, rather then spending money on gambling packs hoping for an item you want...
I want, so bad, for them to add music to this game that is looped or the 1.0 style or some way there is music always playing no matter where i am that i want to suggest them to add an option or expansion/patch item in the cash shop that players can buy that adds music looped or layered into the game so that you can actually have music playing in dead empty lifeless zones.
I wouldn't mind if the 2.0 tracks are looped or the 1.0 tracks added, just anything to hear that will give the zones life and vibrance.
When i gather and there is no music i cant bear to use sprint, jump, or the elemental ward skills and get 100 shards in 20 minutes or so, but if i put on the two 1.0 version songs looped i never touch sprint, jump and half the time forget my elemental ward skills and can spend easily 1-2 hours gathering shards. Music is amazing, please let us have it back.

Personally I'm not going to cry about vanity items like mounts/minions going up for sale. At the end of the day they are optional and nobody is forcing you to buy them.
What I do have a problem with are things like retainers being sold, these types of services provide a significant advantage on the market board if you're an avid crafter and to me that's not right. I understand that won't change now but it still bothers me that they are selling them.
I'm only worried that they'll add more pay to win things to the cash shop like instant max level and items sellable for gil (official rmt essentiallly). I know they say that they will not add pay to win but in my experience from other games, the devs idea of pay to win is often a lot different than mine.

I remember that Lightning Fate, with that unique, never-again hairstyle, weapon and outfit you could get. They said that would be the ONLY time we'd be able to get that stuff... aside from, you know, that OTHER time, when they brought back the whole event just recently.
Oh, they also said that Personal and FC housing would be separate and that Personal housing would be a lot more affordable.
You really shouldn't believe everything they say at this point without doubt. At any point in the future, they can go and say we "misinterpreted" what they said before. Worked fine with housing.
Fans of this development team will believe anything that Yoshi-P says. 6 months down the road when they're paying 15 bucks a month subscription and having to pay to get into dungeons they'll still be like "if you don't like it don't buy it" "yoshi-p for president" "don't let the door hit you on the way out!"I remember that Lightning Fate, with that unique, never-again hairstyle, weapon and outfit you could get. So that's how you justify the concern? Fear that they're lying? And as I said a page ago, vanity drama? Who cares if they bring it back so that more people can enjoy the little quest and get the vanity gear?I remember that Lightning Fate, with that unique, never-again hairstyle, weapon and outfit you could get. The housing -is- a lot more affordable now than when it first came out as well. I can pull up the patch notes if you want, or you could do it yourself, but it'll get cheaper still once the prices go down. Assuming people don't buy them up immediately because they are so affordable. If you think about it logically though, they already have innrooms, housing, and then personal rooms in the housing; why do they need to create another specific section for housing? Their concerns for dataspace is not unfounded. Down the road, it might be more feasible, but for now, the Dev. Team is working way overtime to try and catch this game up, so if they misrepresent something, I think they can be cut a little slack.
Should probably stop ignorantly judging people that support their Dev. Team just because you think you can see the future.Fans of this development team will believe anything that Yoshi-P says. 6 months down the road when they're paying 15 bucks a month subscription and having to pay to get into dungeons they'll still be like "if you don't like it don't buy it" "yoshi-p for president" "don't let the door hit you on the way out!"
