Logged in for the first time in 3 months to find that my linkshells went from 90 people to 3 who unfortunately also dint even feel like playing so no dungeon for me.
However, asking a random person to team up ALREADY gives more gains than a leve does. That's where the problem lies. (and what you seem to be ignoring)
LOL the only FAIL i see is in your post. This game doesn't require even NEARLY a month to gain 4 levels. Actually, even at the highest levels, you can easily gain a level in 3-4 hours, and that's if you're slow.I'm sorry, but any game that requires a month to gain 4 levels/ranks, whatever, clearly is not worth playing, at least not for those of us with relatively limited time - and at the rate that things have gone since implementation of the patch, I think this is going to be the norm.
FAIL, Square Enix - You should stop listening to what your developers THINK the players want, and actually listen directly to the players for a change. The game as it is now, I will not pay a single dollar per month to play.
Go on with the hyperboles, see where they bring you.
First of all, that's very debatable and situational, secondly, asking someone to team up and actually working with him efficently (which is definitely required to get more gains than with leves) requires more organization and coordination than just soloing a leve. Hence, it SHOULD be more rewarding.
Thirdly, the "random person" is not always available, and not everyone is willing to bother, or have the time to, and that's where guildleves come in play.

I absolutely HATED FFXI because of the nerfed lvling process and utter lack of time available to actually explore the game due to this problem. Now they've gone and done the same thing to FFXIV. As a casual gamer who has a real job and a real life, I expect to get the most out of my time playing. However, with the changes patch 1.18 brought, this is clearly not going to happen. I played for three days off and on following implementation of the patch and am sorely disappointed in just about every change made, all save for the auto attack feature. Leves are incredibly gimped. SP for grinding is atrocious. SP for quests are somewhat OK, however those that you actually get decent SP from take far too long, and when considering the anima cost to actually complete them - a total waste of time and energy.

Agreed. The only ones complaining were the clans because they felt unimportant, since everyone could get the gear they had with effort and thinking. Now they can start rmt and overpricing gear. That's what they want SE! can't you see that? We almost didn't have those problems here, and whoever was doing that, wasn't making any money since people even solo, could get somewhere. Now, it's all in the hands of little mafia again. Why do every single MMO have to turn out like this? Can't you see that 70% of your userbase are casual gamers!?
I'm pretty sure I've seen this stated to Kensei a few times now, one with actual numbers in the form of a question...
One of them is actually only 2 posts after this one of yours.
That Kensei keeps asking the same question is, quite likely, the single most perfect example I've seen of willful ignorance in action.
It's like someone asking if you can prove the sky is blue...
So you prove it.
They respond by asking if you can prove the sky is blue...
So you provide the same info, proving it again..
They respond by asking if you can prove the sky is blue...
It's to the point where I'm not sure Kensei isn't just doing it deliberately to troll folks at this point. No one could possibly be that dense.
Putting my cents in to /thread
I think it's hilarious how people who gained their SP on easy mode for the last 6 months are now feeling betrayed and hurt that it's harder to come by using the same methods.
I also think it's hilarious that all the die-hards who finished all the side-quests pre-1.18 are now cheated out of all that SP.
It's like this big pie-in-the-face to hardcore players who are ultimately realizing that they wasted their time investing so much in this game.
Meanwhile, I sat back and stopped playing when the game stopped being fun. My reward? I get to enjoy the new updates without the hassle of knowing "what it was like before".
To all you whiners, if it's not fun, stop playing! It's a game, not a way of life.
I know plenty of people who play hardcore because they think somehow they will be superior to others when the game gets better.Putting my cents in to /thread

Unfortunately for them the game needs to cater to new players because the game needs about another 5 million of those to stay alive.
This thread... has went to...lol.......anyway...only people who post in forums now rly who don't like the changes, but most of the people who use to give good idea's to the thread are not posting much cause they like the new patch.... Anyway the sp is fine for me at least took only 3 hrs out of my life to solo my lvl. also if the devs do respond to this thread your gonna see something like: Please refer to the Letter from the Producer XII about Sp changes....he said it was gonna be dry so suck it up and just move on only thing that needs to be adjusted in this patch is mp cost.
There isn't a single MMORPG in which early adopters don't get somehow "screwed" by it getting easier and easier with time.
