Well, although I've been playing off and on since Alpha, I quit due to the broken mechanics and watching people get 50 because of said broken mechanics. Shit like that bothers me highly, played ffxi for 7 years, Astral Burns came out and I quit in an instance. Now that, that has been fixed (Leve Failing) I am once again interested in the game. Although, if anything is broke right now, it's all the people who exploited the system to get their 50's. Although I may not be 50, and have 2 30's, I have leveled 2 Jobs from 28-30 between yesterday and today and it has gone by just as fast as before. I actually like grinding playing now.

Also they did say it was going to rough at first no? Til they got in the party mobs and chain xp? Either way, I'm enjoying this patch alot. I'm loving my GLD again, and not having to spam 1/2/1/2/1/2 and being able to play a bit more tactfully. I can understand the people who are mad because it was a joke to level pre-patch and are mad they can't get there 7th 50 easily anymore, but too people like me I can only think, even though a bit late.. Thank god.

Bottom line is the game was released in a poor unfinished, un-balanced state. Many classes were Overpowered and that is all changed now, It is a new game and people need to forget how things were done in the past year. Doing things like you used to and expecting the same results is not going to happen. In future patches things will be adjusted and re-balanced and eventually we will have a game almost everyone can enjoy. The game is in a better condition now that it ever was, thank you Yoshi!

Some sense of accomplishment is back in the game. I want each of my levels to be a challenge, that is part of what makes an RPG fun. Mindlessly killing things and getting a level every half hour gives you no sense of accomplishment.

Great changes SE, you are headed in the right direction, a little more tweaks and balances and some more content and this game is golden, Keep up the great work!

SE posted a warning & pretty much said they would be banned if they didn't report themselves (something along those lines).

This patch (exp wise) was a major letdown. We need those exp chains & more SP for quest completion ASAP.
SE never seems to fathom that if you can kill more monsters for more SP in the time it takes to run long distances to complete a quest, then no one will feel like doing it.

SP rewards should be something along the lines of:

    Guildleves (Solo environment):
    Rank 1 - 10~ = 1000 - 2000 SP
    Rank 11 - 20~ = 2500 - 5000 SP
    Rank 21 - 30~ = 3500 - 8000 SP
    Rank 31 - 40~ = 8500 - 12,000 SP
    Rank 41 - 50~ = 10,000 - 15,000 SP
Basic Monsters should be around 150-300 per kill.

    Behests On 30min timers:
    Rank 1 - 10~ = 500 - 1,500 SP
    Rank 11 - 20~ = 1,000 - 3,500 SP
    Rank 21 - 30~ = 2,500 - 5,500 SP
    Rank 31 - 40~ = 4,000 - 7,500 SP
    Rank 41 - 50~ = 6,500 - 10,000 SP
Basic Monsters should be around 200-300 per kill.

    Quests (repeatable or plentiful):
    Non-repeatable reward more
    Rank 1 - 10~ = 500 - 1,000 SP
    Rank 11 - 20~ = 800 - 2,000 SP
    Rank 21 - 30~ = 1,500 - 3,000 SP
    Rank 31 - 40~ = 2,500 - 4,000 SP
    Rank 41 - 50~ = 4,500 - 6,000 SP
Basic Monsters should be around 200-500 per kill.

    Regular Party Grinding Field Monsters:
    2 - 4 players = 350 - 500 SP
    4 - 6 players = 400 - 550 SP
    6 - 8 players = 450 - 600 SP
(chains adding cumulative effect that keeps raising the base EXP)
    Chains 1 - 5: 5%
    Chains 6 - 10: 10%
    Chains 11 - 15: 15%
    Chains 16 - 20: 20%
    Chains 21 - 25+: 25%
Every 10 extra chains beyond the 25% mark will yield random buffs.

Leves are made for solo/duo players who are more casual, if you go out an treat it like that you should get the same basic SP you would have gotten if you were soloing and duoing it before the patch.

He wants people to go out and party instead of just doing leves, going to camps and ranking up on nothing but leves is no longer the productive way to gain SP anymore.

This is the overall goal they are heading for and can not be totally done in one patch. I believe people are jumping the gun since he did say it would take 1.18 and 1.19 to complete this.

He is not lying, you're trying to play FFXIV the old way before the patch... the old way doesn't work anymore. People will have to adjust to the new direction that the game is heading. He make his intentions very specific in this letter, I am sorry .
You know what's funny. That's about the 5th time since this update that I've seen people raging about something that Yoshi clearly stated would be the case in one of his newsletters.

If only people read and paid attention...

It also is a very clear indication that leves are not intended to be the sole method of xp'ing.

The problem I see here is people want to continue playing as they did before the patch, without changing or adapting to the changes... and are finding that doing so isn't as effective.

So, they could be saying, "Okay, well, Yoshi *did* say that leves would no longer be the core content or the key method of leveling up, but more a way for casuals to log in and get some stuff done in a short amount of time... He did also say that there would be other content to level up with... So maybe I should just diversify and not put all my eggs in one basket".

Instead, they're basically stomping feet and complaining.

While others are adapting, mixing up their activities, and leveling up... these people are raging on a forum.

    Sad.

But then, not unexpected. This happens in every MMO after every major patch that changes up something in how it's played. There's a lot of people who simply don't like to step outside their comfort zone and do something different. They'll rage against change every time they're faced with it.

Then Mr. Level 12, please tell me what the main method of leveling is now. Since you are oh so knowledgeable.
