    The lore behind atmas is that they are the souls of enemies that were slain by the enemies of light. We, in turn, take the crystalized form of the enemies soul and imbue it into our weapon. While I understand that there is more "variety" by making it zone/fate based (read: monotony), do you really think the warriors of light were slaying Aurielas and hedge moles? They were legendary heroes that were apparently going around defeating "legendary" (read: silly) enemies in the form of lv3 enemies.

    My suggestion originally was to make atmas drop off of bosses but that is being done everywhere in game and I actually like that atmas get u out into the world. So, I propose that atmas get dropped by S ranks, 100% of the time, IF you get full credit. When you get your first atma, you receive no seals, no myth, no sold. only the atma. What do you think?

    I think that it still gets people out into the zones and out of just queuing for instances... you can still farm fates if you want to but you can also (in between dry farming spells) work on popping S ranks for a guaranteed atma.

    Thoughts?

    EDIT // : It also fits the lore much better. S Ranks are certainly more legendary than Lvl 30 mobs, and are a more appropriate foe for the heroes of light. I understand already that people are going to site all of the claiming issues and such with the hunt in general but heres the deal, atma sucks as it is (got mine in 5 days, working on second set for 3 months but I also don't really care about them anymore). This method will provide a guaranteed way for people to get them if they are actively pursuing them. Most people (and I think you are lying if you say otherwise) that have been working on atmas since they launched are probably at least 5/12 by now. I don't think 7 different S ranks is too impossible of a task to achieve.

    There's nothing preventing anyone from getting 12 atmas aside from their own lack of tenacity. There's no comparison between atmas and pandemonium warden.

    All the tenacity in the world doesn't guarantee you atma drops, but you are right they don't compare because they are completely different situations.

    I'll admit that this is an extreme example. The point I am trying to make is that any mechanic in a game needs to be desirable for a large enough group of people for it to be worth it development wise as an enticement to keep players coming back. I am merely trying offer an alternative solution rather then the ad nausem argument of "drop rates."

Just like alexandrite, you can get a guaranteed one from an S rank, or you can farm fates all you want. at least you will know that at the end of the day, when the S rank gets called on your hunt LS, you will get your atma.

    Also, Ooshima, tying in AV/PW would insinuate that S ranks are hard... is that really what you are saying?

    Horror stories about Atmas does exist but the truth is that they remain a minority of the total, despite all the rants you hear on forums/reddit - because the vocal ones are the affected ones. Most of the people I know in game face average RNG with regards to Atma.

    My response to you earlier, while with some sarcasm inside, wasn't exactly targeting at you or anyone specific. Of course it wasn't entirely meant to be a joke either - I do agree that the lore and the activities asked of us is a mismatch - the idea of obtaining souls of the fallen enemies slain by the legendary twelves... but we are slaying trash mobs under our level cap is kind of rubbish.

    At the same time, you hear complaints about how Relic is a side quest thing without a challenge and just mindless grinding if easy content. True enough. S ranks aren't even tough. You can give it +HP 1000% and +dmg 1000% and it will still be zerg'd down, just in larger numbers (whether server will crash or not is another issue).

    If want people want of the quest to be lesser RNG and with some challenge, then maybe some HNMs type battle would meet their taste? Make it non server-zerg-able - it must be claimed by an alliance of 24 and once claimed, only the alliance can battle it, just like levelquests. But it will not be any easy battle (and thus I quote Absolute Virtue - because the time people spend battling it before the nerf is as good as the horror stories of the time people grinded per atma) because it would guarantee an Atma drop.

    Then your more casual players who are the majority source of income for SE will cry.

    At the end, there is no one solution that fit all. You would probably always end up with a solution that would fit the majority but there would be a group of minority seemed handicapped.
