It's about time to add Coil story mode, isn't it ?

The story in coil is a large part of the reward of clearing coil

The gear is just a means to an end, and a reason to keep running it after completion.

The problem I've noticed with most PF/DF parties is that there is no communication before starting the fight, no real communication after wipes (usually nothing or aggresiveness). The party should run through strats before to ensure everyone is on the same page. After wipes discuss what went wrong and how to improve.

Without communication, things will fail.

Then can you explain why does primals have story mode then?

Story isn't a reward - in a RPG game especially, story is actually quite the core, and coil (and CT/ST) actually tells us more about what happen to the Allagans and of course, the transition from 1.X to 2.X. It is especially more important for newer players, and of course non-legacy players. With the move to 3.X next year, there is a lot more lore in FFXIV. Asking the new player to play through them takes a lot of time which isn't necessary as players should be enjoying the latest contents possible. This is a natural point of view as a developer and of course, Yoshida see it this way.

I thought story was the reward for progressing in an RPG? You certainly weren't doing it for the loot, because it didn't matter to the same degree that it does in an MMORPG.

Make it a solo version of coil with some difficulty to it, only rewarding a meaningless achievement and i'll be good with it.
But careful, not so difficult, we must not frustrate all those crybabies asking for a coil Easy mode.


PS:Seriously though, as many people said Coil Easy mode has already been added into the game after 2.2.

Its 20% Echo + nerf.
Its been dumbed down to the point where T1-T2 High voltage is no longer an issue, whole T2 strategy has already been dumped long ago because of enrage, T4 is no longer a DPS check, and T5 is easy as Titan EX, you just need to memorize the pattern, pay attention and move accordingly asap.
Also, You should be happy, this coil yields loot.

About SCoB it will likely be the same as soon as its released for DF.

T5 is easy as Titan EX,

Most people I know hate the Titan fight, and it's so rare to see "Titan EX" and "easy" in the same sentence unless "is not" is between them. In addition to the story of the Coil, I've also given up seeing Ifrit EX.

Have I mentioned that I suck at memorization when I'm not given the opportunities to memorize?

Garuda - Med level.
Titan - HARD.
Ifrit - Easy.

Always been that way but why put the med-hardest before the easier one?

Yeah, I always hear Ifrit EX is a complete joke if you can beat Titan EX. Since I can't, I won't know personally. Ever.

As I mentioned earlier, I almost quit at normal Titan because I hadn't experienced a hard storyline fight until then. The group I had made it a point to degrade me. It's like that in endgame content too, except now there are seven people to insult me as I try to learn.
