What makes you think no ones tried? I have. I will keep trying. If I can get Ultima Weapon down to a science, it shouldn't be much different to memorize.
Also to anyone curious, have my guide to FFXI Diablo mission.
i support this idea, seriously now, what harm would this really have?
a story mode so that people can experience the rich lore that Coil has in it, with no drop rewards, would be fine.
Infact, it could act quite easily as an introduction to the mechanics of the current, endgamey coil, make people less likely to utterly fail when entering into coil and not piss off all the super elites.
I proposed this a few months back in another thread about revisiting the dificulty of coils.
And i totally support an story only no drops easier mode of all the Coils and actually any future content on its level for story and lore reasons. And to even more, prevent being spoiled about said details from people who clears it and has absolutely no consideration of others.
I don't know. You don't know. Are you watching them? Seeing that they aren't trying?
My point being that I don't really care why they can't do it. There are many reasons in RL that can stop someone from clearing it. I've had many times where I couldn't play for a while or had weird times so I can relate.
Sure that can hold them back from loot and that shouldn't be handed to them even with RL things stopping them. But story is different
This quote is worth the bandwidth it was used to post it, it's a way of brushing people off...... you only need to look at their track record that i mentioned earlier in this thread. Stop thinking just because they said something they are going to do it (housing, addons.... etc the list keeps growing)With the Bahamut's coils completing in patch 2.4, do you have any plans for players who are only interested in seeing the storyline?
A: I have also been wondering what we can do. With respect to the difficulty, there will be some relaxation, but we also need to consider players who are starting new, so we haven't finalized any specifics yet. I would like it so that at some point everyone could experience the story.
Edit: Going to stop posting in this thread because people go through life/game wanting the easy way out, I have bookmarked this thread and on each patch release I will be making a post laughing that it wasn't implemented.

It is only logical of Yoshida to actually implement this. It is not like the request or rationale behind it isn't reasonable, and it has nothing to do with wanting the easy way out. And looking at their track record and predictable pattern, I would definitely see it coming. How it is going to be implemented is another story. This quote is worth the bandwidth it was used to post it, it's a way of brushing people off...... you only need to look at their track record that i mentioned earlier in this thread. P.S. - and looking at your lodestone, I think someday you might need it. Fret not, I'm actually supporting Story Mode for all because I feel that everyone should be able to experience the whole of the FFXIV story and lore in-game. All of the primals already have their own Story Mode, it is about time for coil to have it as well. It has nothing to do with trying coil and how easy Twintania is with echo and even T6-T9 is being sold by members of the FC I am in right now blah blah blah. I can be quiet elitist myself but I think this reasoning is crap.
The story in coil is a large part of the reward of clearing coil
The gear is just a means to an end, and a reason to keep running it after completion.
The problem I've noticed with most PF/DF parties is that there is no communication before starting the fight, no real communication after wipes (usually nothing or aggresiveness). The party should run through strats before to ensure everyone is on the same page. After wipes discuss what went wrong and how to improve. Instead, as what happens too much, start playing the blame game. To be frank, the most agressiveness ones who do that ar usually the ones who try to cover their own mistakes by deflecting onto others.
Without communication, things will fail. Without, at least admitting to yourself when you make mistakes, or are unsure, things will fail.
If you can get people to join a PF, you can also invite them to a LS so you can chat about further days to attempt progression.
As an addendum, many statics don't set fixed days, they are able to plan around when their members are available, I know, we do that also.
Communication is key.
