I get that even non raiders want to see story but the story is kinda part of the reward. I mean even in single player games you have to beat it to see the ending. They have made them very easy.

I get what you mean, but most single player games have difficulty options or balance main scenario type stuff so that most people will be able to get through it.
I mentioned it before but I would be fine if Coil wasn't a significant part of the entire game's story. As a 1.0 player the coil storyline has answers and conclusions to the storyline I started and experienced years ago and for the time being it's being withheld from me.
Exactly as Kinsey said on the previous page. I went through 1.0 with a casual group of friends and the exclusivity of coil's storyline and the fact it wants the best of the best really stinks when it was something we were able to participate in before without stressing too much. And while I won't list this as 'reasons' in general why having a storymode option for the high-end raid content is a reasonable request, when it comes to Binding Coil specifically, there are several reasons why 1.0 veteran players especially would like to at least be able to see the storyline. As it is the key wrap-up tie in to the 1.0 story....ironically a storyline that at least in 1.0 WAS very casual oriented as it was the main storyline. So you have a bunch of players wondering about Dalamund, Lou, Bahamut and co....who were super-duper invested in that storyline, but who might not have actually done any of the 1.0 'raiding' as they were not raiders and the original storyline didn't require a raid team now kinda left on the sidelines. Which to be fair, is unlikely to happen with the Expansion's high-end content as that storyline will be brand new and not likely tied to the fall of Dalamund, but still....in this case, part of the reason people are wishing coil had a more accessible version is because they really, really, really are interested in finishing their 1.0 story (which should be fair....it's a 5 year old story arc at this point).

Really? I thought the reward was the gear, like every other RPG known to man where bonus/optional dungeons have the best gear and have no bearing on the main story.
The story has been a huge part of the reward for me the whole time. Beat a new turn and we get loot and hurrah's all around to be sure, but then we all mute mumble and watch the awesome cutscenes unfold. As soon as we all finish watching it we all geek the heck out about it and it's a great time.
The loot is what you get each week. The story is a one time reveal the moment you finally beat that turn you've been working for weeks to beat. It's a far more memorable reward than loot. Loot which, I remind you, may not even be for my class meaning I didn't receive a loot reward that week. I did however receive a cut scene reward. Something all 8 of us can share.
That t12 cut scene when you beat it. Holy cow so good. It made every minute spent dying in that turn worth it.
Totally! I didnt care about the loot until I had seen that! It was what kept me motivated every wipe to finally see it! The gearing up from t10 n 11 where just to get to that cutscene XD
Not replying to the poster now :P
Raiding does not take an exhobitant amount of time for the average raider. 2-3 nights a week many raiders run at for a couple of hours. That's it! The only ones that push harder are teh ones trying for world/server firsts. Our static, most work full time, have familes and RL obligations and we work around those each week. We don't pug someone because one member has to work or a RL emergency, we just reschedule another night when everyone is on. Yeah, we are slower clearing, but it doesn't matter. We are pushing t13 hard now, hopefully cleared this week.
Point is, nothing is stopping anyone raiding (outside extreme cases) except themselves. If we can with so many RL schedules to work around with all 8 members, anyone can.

Someone's missing the point here. I think what some people really want is to "Just see the Story" without the goofy Coil fights. Some players don't care about Coil, raids, raid groups, statics and endgame stuff. Some players just wanna enjoy "The Story of the Game" without the hassles of joining groups or static or silly coil battles not meant to be beaten or enjoyed by MOST of the player base. These types of players won't try coil without nerfs or easy story modes. Why?, maybe they got family and a real life. We'll never know. Well...I don't mind an easy/story mode coil, who's it hurting. No one. And its kinda silly to withhold story and lore has a Reward in a RPG, in fights many players never get to try. You do get gear as a Reward right??? Why isn't that good enough for you?? when we get Alex the old coil will left in the dust forgotten, why not share the story then?

Ok, stop with the victim complex. You are given the same chance as everyone else, in fact Square made it even easier for players like you. If you only care about the cutscene at the end, go watch it on Youtube, instead of bitching on the forums because you don't want to put any effort.
"Second class citizen", pfft cry me a river. The freaking feeling of entitlement of players these days. You are not entitled at all to anything in this game without putting some effort it. Most of the stuff is easy, and some is hard, but regardless you have to do X to get to the reward, be it gear or cutscene.
The only person wanting to be a "second class citizen" is you who wants to make an exception because they don't want to put in the effort like everyone who did complete coil had to.
Don't want to put in the work? Then go watch it on Youtube.

Ok, to everyone here who qouted me. I'm not going to waste my time tryng to change your already set minds about OLD cutscenes (many of which I've seen already) I just would like " Other not so lucky players be able to enjoy the game I love with, ALL story/lore OPEN to everyone who can complete say a small easy quest. Also, I have many thing to hang my hat on so I'm not so worried about your silly uninformed statments about my game'ing. And Magis "telling someone to go do ANYTHING is down right !@@$ of you.
Guys, stop being so A**hurt about cutscenes in a Video game. You dont OWN them or have any right to play keep away with them. Let the Devs make that call. If we get a "Cutscenes only first and second coil in the future, no one will have any rights to say other wise.
I myself would like a Solo coil mode.
Goodnight guys
