Looks like you don't know what wrong is. Why would a speed runner abuse people that skip cutscenes. You of course would let them because you want to them to skip cutscenes. Duh!?
Spoken like a true speed runner.
So lemme get this straight. You = EVERYONE?
They said everyone abuses them, their words not mine. I proved that wrong by stating that I don't.
But its no matter they're falling back to trolling since they know their argument got debunked. And I say trolling because I've already displayed numerous times in the thread that I don't hurt newbies, in fact many of them give me commendations when I stand up for them. Yet they refuse to acknowledge it.
Everyone abuses who? Speed runners abuse the 1st-timers they encounter by forcing them to skip cutscenes, and will do so by verbal abuse, vote kick abuse or locking them out of bosses. Now since when did speed runners equal everyone? People that speed run only when everyone agrees are not speed runners, they are just players that speed run sometimes. So you are making up false statements.
So why is that you feel so compelled to play devil's advocate for the speed runners? Stand up for the newbies as here on the forums as you claim you do in game. Using vote kick on 1st-timers like the OP for watching cutscenes is simply wrong. The system should disable cutscene skipping when it is paying out the 1st-timer bonus.
i have did those dungeons a million times and will still stick up for anyone watching cut scenes, you have every right to watch them they are there for a reason. about the best thing you can do is ignore the jerks and report them if they kick you for watching cut scenes
I can tell you why I do this. Its because of people like you who have the indecency to tell people how they can play their game. People like you who badger, berate, and harass players who just want to get in and do the dungeon run. Its because of people like you who get these players irate and start taking it out on the newbies. People like -YOU- are hurting newbies.Everyone abuses who? Because lets face it, what have you done to help except come after me and insult me? I've actually helped newbies in game. I've joined PF groups when I see them. I've helped people with primal fights (not just Hardmodes). I've defended newbies in game from those who badger them about watching cutscenes. I've helped a newbie in this very thread understand what is going on and what to expect when they run the level 50 dungeons.
What have you done? Nothing. Nothing at all except to throw fuel on the fire to hurt them in the long run. I hope you're proud of your sorry little self for it.
I compromise because I know I can't change speed runners. And I don't believe they should. They help get the quests completed in a manageable amount of time. Instead of telling a newbie DPS, "Oh I hope there's a another two newbie tanks, and two newbie healers in the queue with you." The system works as it is, especially when both players compromise. Because that's what an online MMO community is supposed to do. Work together and compromise. Give a little to receive a little.
Instead you all cry to SE when something 'foul' happens instead of working it out yourselves. And then have the audacity to insult others who are actually trying to help the situation. For once in your lives, take personal responsibility and work things out between yourselves instead of running to the devs like they're a teacher in a playground.
@Kaethra
you are right but in a game like this, where both sides believe they have all the rights either one side or the other, there cannot be a compromise, there cannot be a solution. To be honest, those that watch cutscenes are using the tool as intended, those that want to speedrun arent, can speed runers speed run yes, should a non speed runer first timer be kicked ? no...which is the crunch of the point...speedrunners believe they can kick anyone that is not in agreement with them it has nothing to do with you helping or not helping it has to do with a misuse of a tool intended for story and used to speed run to the detrimental of those that want to enjoy the story and are in the right place for it. The compromise in here is already made for everybody, those that go in this dungeon get an extra reward for the loss of time so what other compromise can there be ? is already set and quite clear.
The verbal abuse is wrong in any situation but when there are no sanctions and reporting is not going to lead you anywhere as already stated that SE do not mix into player squabble, self entitled is by default authorized and in this category the weaker, understand newby, will pay the price of this self entitlement attitude, alas.

I disagree. Now I want to be quite frank and clear that I am not supporting anyone who verbally abuses newbies or does things to make their lives miserable like vote kicking or harassing them. As I've said numerous times in this thread, I do NOT allow my fellow vets to do this. As a healer most of the time, I have quite a bit of leverage when it comes to that.
And the majority of the time there is normal people who don't care either way. They aren't as vocal as I am, though. Its not like half the group is newbies being harassed by the other half. Its usually only one or two, and I've actually never personally seen a vote kick come up for someone. Not to say it doesn't happen. I'm sure it does, but I doubt it is as common as the OP and some other posters here say it is.
Point here is, those of us who are on the fence so to say, and don't mind if people watch cutscenes as long as we can clear trash. Shouldn't be demonized like I have been by several posters in this thread. That causes resentment. That could lead to the blame being put on the newbies and cause more instances where they are harassed and vote kicked. I want to prevent that. I want players to just get along with each other.
I'll be honest the gaming community as a whole has gone to crap since 2003. Before that, I used to play EQ. A game where you could really troll your fellow players by training, ninja looting, and other asinine things. But we didn't do that to each other. It happened, sure. But those who did it were held accountable. Most times disagreements were worked out and understandings were concluded. These days, people will just troll each other on one said, and then others will go to a game forum and make post and thread to devs to 'fix' a problem they could probably fix themselves.
I seriously think this issue is one we can fix ourselves. All we have to do is understand one another and work towards a common goal (completion of the dungeon).
Just how exactly we are going to fix this? You think others will listen to reason? You think they will wait if asked r e a l l y nicely? My guess is.... no!
Again both sides have = valid points
Need a solution that makes both happy. Stop trying to prove each other wrong.
Neither side is wrong.
