I've experienced the opposite. The odds are only going to go back up when a new heavy patch or an expansion is released. The only thing SE can do is keep this horrible design out of future dungeons.I've done this plenty. On average 19 out of 20 runs, there is no new player bonus to be awarded. It will not be everyday, and 1st-timer are doing their 1st time only once, and over time the odds of getting a new players will only continue to drop from 1 out of 20 to 1 out of 100 and perhaps to even less than 0.01% off the time.
NOWHERE in my post did I say for you to watch the cutscenes over and over. I merely stated that you could allow new players to watch the cutscenes and not leaving the new players behind. There is no need for you to watch the cutscene.
Sit back, chat with the party while you wait, alt tab out for a minute or two and look at the news headlines, look at your phone, something. You get rewarded for having a new person in the dungeon on top of the roulette reward AND the dungeon reward. You can at the very least wait five minutes more to allow the new players to enjoy the dungeon.
File2ish what do you think of my idea I posted earlier? (posted here again for your convenience)

Honestly I'm not taking a side against you but I do understand not wanting to sit and chat with the party while waiting. I want to get in and get my tomes and get out. But I also want to make darn sure the new person enjoys his/her experience.

Froooooom the top, please actually read this time as this is the third time I am explaining this. Put on your big-boy reading glasses if you have to.
You are being paid 110 tomestones to increase the queue rate. That is your base MS bonus.
You are also, if a newbie is in the instance, being paid an additional 100 tomestones for shepherding the newbie throuhg the dungeon. Forcing them to skip scenes or doing bosses they wanted to participate in (note I said "if you ask first and they say okay" when I talked about killing bosses) is the opposite of shepherding. It is the opposite of what that reward is being given for. Why don't YOU understand THAT?
I read what you said. No need to be condescending for no reason. Its my choice not to watch the cutscejes and move on. Until she changes that, I'm not waiting.Froooooom the top, please actually read this time as this is the third time I am explaining this. Put on your big-boy reading glasses if you have to.

Brine do you have any comment on Darki's/my idea?

Sorry, but I don't think it will work too well. As others in that thread noted, the problem is that almost everyone will go to the "no CS" option, so newbies who -do- want to watch the cutscenes will have a dramatically shrunken queue time. Yes, even if you make the reward disparity massive. (And if you did that, speedrunners would start bitching and moaning about -that- instead.)
(By the way, off-topic, but love the Silmarillion reference in your name.)
Actually, if it's large enough to be noticeable, it might very well attract enough people. There are a lot of people who get a bit blinded by big numbers. See: all the people who get starstruck by big crits or burst, all the old arguments about effective HP on WAR vs PLD, all the people running MS roulette now just for Myth instead of Bray HM, etc. Even if it's a little less myth/minute than another option, not everyone is going to know or consider that. They're just going to see AMG big numbers and sign up.
10 posts per page is only the default setting; it is bad, and you should feel bad if you haven't changed it.

Hmm I see that as a concern but honestly I'd like to see it implemented for a month and have someone publicize the data of how many total MS roulette bonus rewards there are both in the non cut-scene version and the cut-scene version. I'm fairly sure if they reward 10 myth per minute of cut-scene time and the reward works out to being approximately 50 myth for every 5 minutes some speed runners (myself included) would be all over it. That would be my first choice for getting a massive chunk of myth in a day. Maybe throw in some soldiery in there too (?), maybe GC seals (?), and maybe allied seals (?) so people don't just leave for S ranks. But even that might not be necessary because I foresee a lot of people Q-ing in progress for this.
The other solution is to not give an option to join a CS or non-CS dungeon, but instead just disable speeding up of cut-scenes in any way if there is a new person there but still reward people 10 myth per cut-scene-minute. (new SI unit "myth per cut-scene-minute" it'll be in all of our children's science books :P) Some people might leave if they realize it's a full cut-scene dungeon, but the high amount of people Q-ing would just replace them in no time.
Thanks! The reason Manwe sat in thought so much is because he wanted to find a solution to the MS roulette newbies vs. bully speed runners problem!
