Please tell me two thingsBy having a brain and using it, there's this thing called "search info" and this other thing called mapping achievement.
You like to throw the word "troll" around a lot in your other posts, perhaps you're just trolling this thread making people waste time, that's the only explanation for bringing stuff that has been answered already.
I wouldn't be surprised if you were one of those who don't even run MS roulette anymore and just want to argue for the sake of it.
1. Why is it my job to determine who is new? Why don't you just use your keyboard and express your intentions.
2. How is using your brain and the search info gonna find out who is an alt?
I'll answer two things:
1. I never said it was your job to determine who's new, the post I'm replying to is a direct reply to my small story in post #229, I determined that 5 of the 7 other players were new and NyarukoW is questioning this.
2. That's where communication kicks in, they all said they were new, their search info also showed it was their first 50 and they had the standard gear you would expect from a fresh 50, and also they got the mapping achievement at the end.
They say that if you repeat a lie so many times it becomes truth, but not this time. The first time bonus is just there as an incentive to help clear the content, anything else is inside your head. You don't have to watch them yourself. You can skip. You can kill trash mobs. Hell, you can even take out some of the bosses (if you ask first and the newbie says okay). Or, y'know. Read a book. Listen to a song. Pop open your DS and take a turn or three on Fire Emblem. And why is it not feasible when you're being payed in mythology tomestones to do precisely that?
See, you really show you don't run MS roulette at all, there's no way to skip the mapping achievement unless you skip zones and there's no way to skip zones in Praetorium.Your brain is flawed in its ability to interpret information. I didn't get my mapping achievement for Sastasha, but I've done that at least 2 dozen times. I didn't get it because people speed run sastasha, skip chests and all. I didn't get it until 3 weeks ago when I was helping a FC member with a one of our own really experienced FC tank that made sure we maximized EXP for our new FC member. So you misinterpret that info as being new.
And since you have some reading issues, let me tell you again: they all said they were new.

You obviously haven't seen speed runner run so far ahead skipping all sorts of stuff and forcing people to use the shortcut and skipping zones. More often than not, the 1st-timer in this situation gets a clear but they are so lost they don't even know how get on the magitek and ride down the ramp and get stuck there. It would seem that your do NOT run Praetorium.
And in CM there are many zone that a 1st-timer can end up skipping without even knowing that happened. They often ask where is everyone and get told to return and use the shortcut.
In all likelihood, these supposedly new people, probably got locked out of the bosses in their first run thru because they were watching cutscenes, and are now doing it again to get the boss fights. People should never have been abused like that in the first place. They should NOT have to do all cutscenes without the boss fights or boss fights without the cutscenes, and have all the continuity all messed up in either case.

"More often than not" I thought you were there to protect and guide the newbies, how do you let that happen? Like I said earlier (which again you didn't read) I always wait for them to get down the ramp so they don't get lost, so that's hardly an issue in my parties. And like I said earlier, in this case I'm talking about the guys said they were new, but again your selective reading is at work. You obviously haven't seen speed runner run so far ahead skipping all sorts of stuff and forcing people to use the shortcut and skipping zones. This happened in Praetorium, so that's irrelevant.
Do you understand English? They said they were new and they didn't care about CS other than the guy they locked out, you are assuming every newbie cares about cutscenes. In all likelihood, these supposedly new people, probably got locked out of the bosses in their first run thru because they were watching cutscenes, and are now doing it again to get the boss fights. Maybe bolds will work with you. At this point I'm thinking you're just a troll trying to waste people's time here.
I personally never watched cutscenes past Ifrit (lvl 20) in my road to 50 to avoid being an inconvenience.
What is 1 bard going to do other than wait outside the boss room for the 1st-timer. That is all I can do while I witness all the speed running shenanigans going on. I can't stop a couple of speed running tanks or healers. I argue with them, and if start cussing at me I report them to the GM for verbal abuse.
------
What you said about what the newbies said is all your interpretation. You chose add that they said this and that after the fact, if you look you original "story time" post. In which case, most people would assume you are embellishing. Beside it is "your story" so you can tell it however you like and change it however you like and even go back edit your post. See:
You surveyed by looking at their search info and their mapping achievements. And now you want to say they said so.. Oh well, you can make up your story however you like and interpret the information however you like.
But it doesn't change the fact that forcing people to speed run, verbal abuse, and locking people out boss fights are all bad behaviors and they can all be reported to the GM. And I've even talked to GMs even in the middle of a Prae boss about these speed runners, and they start the boss and cuss at me at the same time I am cutting pasting their choice words to the GM.

Alukan is saying they join duty finder as all 3 roles to try to get into the duty faster. Not they are checking the people they are in the duty with....You surveyed by looking at their search info and their mapping achievements. And now you want to say they said so.. Reading comprehension?
No one forces anyone to "speed run." You either keep up with the pace of the group or don't. If you sit and watch cutscenes, no one is OBLIGATED to make sure you join the fights. There is thing called personal responsibility. You join a duty, any duty to complete it. IF people decide to wait on you because you want to watch the cut scenes slowly, reading them one letter at a time, then that is their pejorative. Its just as if you went into any other dungeon and decided to just walk around looking at the set pieces while the group is trying to clear monsters and kill the bosses. Would you go say Brayflox and just walk around and look at stuff?
SE will NOT enforce one way of playing on the player base. They've said this much already multiple times. They added party finder for this very reason. Duty finder is for the completion of duties. If you don't want to just complete the duty, and play through it, then you have the option of finding like minded players and using party finder.

Two problems with this line of thought.SE will NOT enforce one way of playing on the player base. They've said this much already multiple times. They added party finder for this very reason. Duty finder is for the completion of duties. If you don't want to just complete the duty, and play through it, then you have the option of finding like minded players and using party finder.
1) Let's assume a completely new player. He has done all his dungeons through duty finder from lvl 1-50 thus far and has not encountered speed running for the most part and it has worked well for him. Why should he suddenly change his approach to use PF if he wants to run a dungeon the way he has always been runnning it from 1-50
2) The number of players who use the forums are the minority. Most new players will not even know that this duty will have so many long cutscenes. How are they expected to know this to use the party finder. He would probably assume that the cutscene would be under a minute. By the time they realize it, they would have already been kicked.

Did you just seriously try to equate first-time players attempting to play and view a dungeon the way it was expressly intended to be played and viewed by Square Enix with someone trying to go sightseeing in a dungeon?IF people decide to wait on you because you want to watch the cut scenes slowly, reading them one letter at a time, then that is their pejorative. Its just as if you went into any other dungeon and decided to just walk around looking at the set pieces while the group is trying to clear monsters and kill the bosses.
