I don't see that working in this game. The classes as they stand right now just won't really work with the 4v1 style of game play that is used in Evolve simply because the only classes that could realistically fulfill the position that the "Goliath" fills in Evolve is the Tanking Classes and even then a Tanking Class would melt like butter if it had even just 2 DPS Classes barreling down on it with any reliability, not to mention 2 DPS, a Tank, and a Healer or some other party combination targeting it. It just wouldn't be fair to the person fulfilling the "Goliath" Position in any way shape or form unless they got massive buffs to Defense, and Hit Points.

What do you mean "Become Big"? This game already IS Big. Simply put, as of Patch 2.2 this game had over 2 million registered users and an average of 500,000 daily users. That is a staggering number. Granted World of Warcraft beats this figure by about 4.8 million subscribers, but this game still has one of the largest customer bases for a subscription based game in the world.

No, the only class you could reasonably talk me into taking into that fight would be my Bard due to the insane mobility that class has at it's disposal. And even then odds are I will die numerous times before I ever get the win.
On a side note, playing casters in Titan Ex is extremely easy once you know the fight. Titan is 100% scripted aside from minor variables. Melee is the most challenging since your view of the field is more limited, but again, there are no surprises in that fight. Bards do have the mobility advantage, but that just means that they can potentially afford to slop a bit compared to, say, a BLM, who needs to have memorized the fight to maintain appropriate DPS.

While this may be true, I still think I will prefer to take my Bard into the fight over a caster or melee class overall. That said, I can see and acknowledge what you are saying as more than likely true overall.

I just meant become something really special in the mmo world, transcend the limitations blah, blah. I didn't mean for you to twist my words though, let's just forget it and be friends .

Or...OR you could play in moderation, and work on completing your long, hard working goal over a period of time. Wait..I forgot where I was. Silver Platter pl0x.

And to people saying it's only been one year, how long are we doing to do this dance? It's been since 2011 they took over and been working on ARR. This game has bored my many legacy friends (And non legacy now) and I to tears and we've since stopped playing, hoping the expansion fixes things. If not, I suppose MMO's were fun while they lasted. You'll be missed, FFXIV 1.23!

By your logic, every Star Ocean game would be the same game which is obviously not the case. Dyne here is correct, for all intents and purpose, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a different game than Final Fantasy XIV due to the tremendous amount of change it got.

Unless they fundamentally changed the way that this games classes worked, then I don't see that PvP mode ever being implemented. In fact I don't see that PvP mode even being successfully implemented in the game that it was designed for. 4v1 is just not a fair fight for the individual who has four people ganging up on them, regardless of how OP their class is or how much of a time advantage that individual may have on their side, 4v1 is just never a fair fight.

I am sorry, but Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn doesn't need to become something really special in the MMO World. It doesn't need to transcend the limitations, or whatever else you may be willing to spout. This is because Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is the most recent MMO Installment in a Franchise that has been BIG and continuously groundbreaking since December 18th 1987 (that's 3 years short of 3 decades). It is one of the oldest successful video gaming franchises right alongside of Mario (first appearance in Donkey Kong on July 9th, 1981), and Zelda (original release: The Legend of Zelda, February 21st, 1986). When you have that kind of staying power you really don't need anything else.

In fact the only Role Playing Game Franchise that is in fact both Older and more successful than Final Fantasy as a whole is Dungeons and Dragons which first debuted in 1974 (40 years ago) and is still going strong to this day with at least two different MMORPG's based on it, one of which is an officially sanctioned MMORPG, the other is a fan-made MMORPG. It also has several spin-off games, of which Final Fantasy may well be the first one of.

More specifically Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is the direct SEQUEL to Final Fantasy XIV. This of course means that they are in fact two different games set in the same world, but are still two different games.

This is the same phenomena as what happened with games such as Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht; Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse; and Xenosaga Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra. All three games were set in the same world (in fact they were set in the same world as the much earlier game Xenogears), however due to different graphics engines being used in their productions each game was distinctly a different game.

There's nothing "teamwork" about hoping person A doesn't get caught in an explosion that causes a chain reaction. From what I've seen, there's very little team/party interaction in a lot of the mechanics that are causing players problems, and more emphasis on "hope no one in the party messes up".
    Couldn't agree more
