I've been following this thread since the start, though I have yet to start work on my own 'bo. I've seen the theory arise that there can be hq 'procs', but I am curious... Has anyone examined time elapsed between the interval of the feeding and the establishment of the new color (through interaction with the stables) as a relevant factor? Most people note '6hrs' but i don't know if that is the true time elapsed, or just a shorthand for "I waited more than the requisite time."

I have waited far longer than the 6 hours. Feed chicken, go to bed, get up and check lol. Others have checked after 6 hours. It's an interesting theory but so far, mind you only with FC and LS mates, I haven't seen time being a factor.

I don't know what causes these 'skipped' steps or 'rare' steps. It's not HQ but I have no idea what else to call it.

After my last post, after 4 more feeding sessions finally got my Soot Black. I've been tracking all the feeding sessions sice desert yellow, including feather procs, and gonna post it here soon =D

Nothing new really, but I did try a ridiculous amount of apples on blood red. No new feather message so I added some berries and got to Dalamud Red. Basically following Ravenloft's(and others) path. I'm tempted to try the valfruit idea, but I really like this dalamud red too. I saw someone was gonna try apples again at Dalamud Red. Wondering if that did anything. If I get the urge to experiment more I'll report back.

If I land on Peacock Blue this stage, I'm probably giving up for now and eating a lemon. Then I'll go back to blood red and trying a ridiculous amount of apples myself. If that doesn't work, then it's valfruit and some pineapples. After that, I might start going for black again in a different way.

I don't know if you can directly correlate the rgb like that.
Rose Pink (R228, G153, B144) + Apples (deepen red) =
Coral Pink (R200, G101, B87)

or the rgb stuff has me too confused.

Yeah I've noticed the same thing, I think we've got it completely wrong, and the RGB table can only be a little aid. We should probably look into other ways of mixing colors, like in painting more than video.

If you take a look at that chart a few posts above.. it looks like you should theoretically, from Lavender Purple, be able to fed pineapples to Lilac Purple then Coral Pink. From there, Plums to Colibri Pink, and again to Iris Purple. Can't guarantee it, cause I don't think anyone's actually gone that way yet.

I dont know if this will help, but here are my results, which seem to correspond to the dye mapping spreadsheet.

My First attempt:

I expect that my next result will be Blood Red, then i will need to use the blue berries for 1 feather change and I should have Dalamud Red, which is my Goal. The next step would be to see if you can get that by doing it all at once...
