    Are you being intentionally dense?

Because some Coil gear is better than Soldiery gear. Because some Coil gear looks better than Soldiery gear. Because before hunts and ST it was the only way to get Sands, Oils, and UATs. Because ALL the high level loot is gated in some fashion (in case you haven't noticed, there's a soldiery cap), therefore people raiding can gear up faster.

    "BUT OH THE RNG!!!"

That's why you should be raiding with a group of people who pass you sands and oils if the gear you need doesn't drop and they have their own. This greatly reduces your chance of getting sucker punched by RNG, and now that we have hunts the pressure is greatly alleviated. So..., yeah. There's already a token system in place.

It's called personal achievement. If you want to show off... well, that's a totally different topic. You still have the upgraded gear. But oh noes, how will people know you cleared Coil now that everyone can gear up with hunts?!

    Bow of Crags
    Titan Ore (x3)
    Cinder of Ifrit (x5)
    Ancient Bow (x1)
    Heart of the Crags (x2)

So in this case, after every fight each player will get a single item, (randomly generated), if he got a multiple copy of the one he doesnt need then he plays it again, if he got everything then he has the bow. The items can be even from different trials, so that people will have reasons to play it again and again. They could even have a trading system, wherein you can trade your extra items, to items of the same rarity (no gil exchange of course only item to item trade off.)Something like that...
People are already clawing their eyes out trying to craft the new primal weapons and this sounds almost just as bad. You're just replacing one kind of RNG with another kind of RNG. What would make more sense is the system used by the original EX primals. Beat all three and turn the tokens in for a weapon while also getting RNG loot (accessories and possibly mount).

Look, I understand the frustration with trying to clear old content when all the capable players have moved on and I think SE should work on finding a way to get people who have already cleared to return in order to boost new players, but there's no need to overhaul the loot system in place.
