Sure. It's nice that you get a little myth and soldiery thrown your way for beating a turn of coil. But does that really do anything? No, not really. It's like a player saying, "I've beaten turn 4 500 times and I've only seen the healer chest piece drop twice, and I lost both rolls." I'm sick of running this, I hope I never step foot in turn 4 again!" But hey you got 20 myth and 15 soldiery...again...yay.
Good try, but believe it or not some sold gear is better than coil gear! So you are still getting BiS from tomes which you get from doing dungeons! Yes they do require sands of time, but those are pretty easy to get now.You must not really understand the game you are currently playing. Myth and Soldiery is an alternative to loot from Coil. You can still run Coil 1279691734696249786 times and theoretically NEVER get the piece you are looking for.
Myth, Soldiery, Allied Seals, GC Seals, these are all types of currency. Sure, they can be used to purchase gear. But they are not the same thing as a 'Token System'. A token system (used by many other MMOs) is used for raid type content with a lock out. It's used so that a player can eventually get the loot they are going for if RNG continues to fail them.
Again, two different things.

Well if that's your argument, why even have a raid that is locked out. We can just hunt all day and run dungeons, buy all of our gear.
Well I am happy to know that I am not alone with this feeling of frustration. God sincerely, you guys have no idea how much time and effort I have invested in getting the Loot for my BRD (the only job class that I have).
I could clearly remember the time, when I was still farming for my Garuda Spine, because no party would accept me for the Titan HM, if I do not have that weapon with me. It was really a very frustrating and sad thing. Having to see Garuda drop a billion books and not even 1 bow, no matter what party I am in. That was waaaayyyy back October of 2013.
Then there is this problem with the Ultima Accessories, which up until now, it is NEARLY impossible to get. I guess I will have to abandon that one, since nearly all runs for that one ends in disaster or does not even start at all.
And yes I do agree with Prymal on this, The Tome weapons are not the same as the Loots. Sorry to say this, but It is not like that at all. The sad part of it all? Is that as the months progress the chances of you getting it, slims down as well. As more and more QUALIFIED PALYERS get their loots, you little by little loose certain party members to play the Trial.
Oh well, I doubt they will change this anyhow.
NOW there is the Atma Weapon Progression, another LUCK BASED LOOT FARMING. I do not get why they have to do that, I know that the Relic should be the Alternative version of the Allagan Weapons. A progression of your weapon building, if for some reason you are not PRO enough to do the Coils. But since they have messed that part too, what is there left for us CASUAL PLAYERS, who can not have the time that most PRO players have? The Primal Weapons are clearly out of the topic, since that is also based on LUCK.
Anything that is based on LUCK, is not really to the advantage of casual players (or any players) 1st-You need to have a lot of time to farm that thing, and even if you do have the time BUT not the luck still your effort will never be rewarded. 2nd- There is the issue of "running out" of suitable parties to play with as time goes by, because most people will not go back to do those trials again if they have their weapons already.
About the Tomes, well... at a certain point it might be something to appease the people who just have a billion bad luck curse on them when it comes to loots. But honestly, where is the pride in that? Clearing the Binding Coil for a million times, not getting anything remotely resembling a coil win item, and wearing a tome weapon...saying "I cleared the binding coil a million times, helped a lot of people getting their allagan sets and yes HERE I AM, wearing tomes!" I mean 0.o seriously?
Point here for me, is that if you give a whole freaking weapon as a reward, you will loose players doing that quest. WHY? because they had what they came for! Now if you somehow, try to make a reason, why a player needs to run this thing multiple times, then you prolong the time they spend in that place, without necessarily being unfair to others.
