So votekick >abuse< is practically allowed?

I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. Part of me thinks it's unfair to get kicked just cuz other people dislike or are bothered by your playstyle, and the other part of me feels that I don't want to waste 45 minutes fighting something that takes 15 just because you refuse to watch the video.

I'd say that based on the response from the GM I'm not too bothered. It sounds more like the entire PT was fed up of the OP and kicked them. The last bit of the GM mail says that they didn't feel like they kicked him to to be dbags, so there was merit I guess.

There's a big difference between "you're holding us back so we're kicking u" and just kicking someone cuz you dislike them. The latter would've been properly reprimanded I'd hope.

I can only speak from my experiences, and unless i'm just very lucky or my data center is amazing, abuse of this just isn't that widespread and i rarely, if ever, see it. Sorry. The only vote kicks i participate in are usually people AFK / leeching in ST.

Also, have you considered people pick the "Harassment" option because the options are very limited? You only have Offline; AFK, Cheating and Harassment. None of these apply to someone not playing in a way you like, so what are they supposed to pick? Maybe they should just add an option titled "Other".

I've been in hundreds of DF's since vote kick was added and have never been kicked. If you keep getting kicked from DF's maybe YOU are the problem and not the system?

Or you have never ran into rude or dumb players yet {trust me you will} that aside SE is far from perfect i was cussed out by 2 guys that had the same fc and got vote kicked and when i reported the GMs did nothing

I would like a votekick option for 'trolling'. Harassment seems way too severe, but when I am booting someone out for trolling... it's the only option I have. It seems that little 'warning' about unjustified votekicking is actually not very effective at all. Unless people are kicking each other enmasse, GMs aren't going to notice a pattern of abuse on a person's record, and will instead just assume they had a reason. Last night, a friend of mine was votekicked out of ST by a mostly premade because they were trolling (pulling bosses before most people were there -- annoying a lot of the full alliances). He told them to stop, or that he'd votekick boot them, not realizing they made up nearly the full party (and thus had majority). So, they votekicked him instead.

I'm not trying to discredit you, just sharing my opinion. I don't see it as a loophole though. As long as they didn't do it with malicious intent, ya know, just to be pricks, it's justifiable. It's an entire parties vote, If you got kicked for performance issues then make a learning pt and improve your game. People don't like wasting time.

I only ever kick people that refuse to learn or watch video. At the end of the day it's up to a vote. If most people don't want you there then you're out. They can verify if it was malicious behavior on their part or if it was due to your skill.

There was no performance issue. That is the point I'm trying to make. You can make up reasons and because SE views it as legit.

This hasn't happened to me yet, thankfully, but it's really freaking stupid. The phrase "different playstyle" can be so interpretable that you can literally kick anyone at any time for that reason. It makes premades in DF even worse than before. This is a serious problem SE needs to address.

No such thing as a perfect system. That language lets the GM use their own judgement in if it was abuse or not. Different play style is the polite way of saying "We understand people don't get along, but we can't reasonably list the infinite number of valid reasons there might be to kick someone, so instead we will judge it on a case by case basis"

I got kicked from my expert roulette yesterday because I didn't know that using Shadowflare would be an issue on the first boss of Tam Tara HM, lol. WOOPS. Sure I've been clearing second coil for close to 3 months, but I've only done TT HM once or twice and never on SMN.

I knew to let the boss aoe attack kill the adds. But bad on me for not knowing that my Shadowflare may be strong enough to kill the adds. They could have just explained that, I think? But eh, not losing sleep over it.

Can't say I've ever really found myself abusing the vote kick and haven't seen too many others do it either. I recall it happening more in the original CT, but in Syrcus Tower I haven't encountered as many trolls.
