This way people get people with ACTUAL SKILL. Having i100+ doesn't automatically make you a good player.
Thanks for making me realize that, now I'm 110% for this

Also that is anecdotal evidence that has nothing to do with proving anything one way or the other. If someone does more DPS than you and preforms mechanics as well as you do, they are better. Same goes for me, and everyone else.
Actually, a buddy of mine was parsing it, and gave me the data (note, I've cleared the ex primals twice, so I must be awful then?). Ironically, he would die right before the wipe.

I never argued who's better/worse. I simply provided a dissenting opinion. But, we're just going to have to agree to disagree here.

This sort of statement always makes me laugh. Just because its a hobby that doesnt justify someone underperforming when everybody wants to reach a certain goal. What do you think happens if you play on a football team and decide to constantly hand the ball over to the opponents? That people wont be pissed? Or that you wont be swapped out because its just a hobby?

Stop being so god damn naive. The internet isnt some sort of undergroud feature anymore. Its part of everyones life and gaming itself becomes more popular every year, automaticall turning games into class systems that resemble real life. You suck, you get punished. And thats how it should be. If you can not deal with that you should maybe look into collecting stamps or grow a spine. Because apparently youre so scared of some random person on the internet calling you names that you cant even think straight anymore.

You whoop their behind and show them what it feels like!
Rinse/Repeat and increase incrementally until eventually they get the point.
If they never do, then you lock them in a room forever!

I think it resembles the warn, suspension, ban system... at least a little bit.
Not too different from what they do now as you're unlikely to ever get reported if you don't abuse it.

Umm... people who "play" football, you know like playing around which I do with my family/friends often, no they don't.

Non pro goal leagues - usually not.

    Semi-Pro - maybe

Pro? yeah! That's not a hobby it's a VERY high paying job! Hence why semi pro leagues take it so serious they WANT that job!

I personally don't know anyone that's planning on making a career out of FFXIV unless they want to work there, in that case no DPS meter required.

This is nonsense like others statements. It's not making it a job that means you need a parser. It's wanting to improve, to test yourself. I know plenity of ppl that play to master the game and they NEED a parser to get beyond a certain point that, it's clear you don't care of. You are ok with not go beyond that point. Fine by me but this don't mean that every other player want to sit where you want to sit. I want to do research. I want to test different pieces of gears. And i can't do it with pen and paper. I can't know how i performed in that run of T6-8. I can't know if it was effective to change the way i use aetherite manipulation. I can't know how much RNG is good for me and how much i critted with 500 crit oposed to 450 crit. And I WANT to know. If i'm unlucky i may prefear to go DET but i don't know.

So higly and mighty elitist how do you know all that? You stop your party to open up the log and copy all those info in excel? I'd like to see that

We got it. You don't care of min-maxing. I can respect that. It's not needed to get the wins. You can get good enough for win easily without a parser but you get there and not past that point. You can't try out crit. You can't try out equipment. You can't try out spellspeed. You can't min-max. You are ok witj not doing so? I alredy said that THAT i respect. But you must respect the other players that like to play a way differently from that. You can't brag to be able to to everything without the parser cuz it's not. You are not min-maxing. And you can't call "wrong" the way other players like to play. If players want to min-max they NEED a parser. And it's not min-maxing that make them elitists. It's claiming to be better then others and impose your way to play that makes you an elitists

    - The same mechanics are in play for Tanks and Healers currently. Do you think that a group of 7 experienced and competent players that are online specifically to get a clear should let a WHM stay in their group that can't heal enough to keep up the tanks under normal circumstances? Then why would they allow a DPS that can't do enough damage to kill the boss in time for the DPS checks to stay in? Its really not fair.
The most you get out of a DF group usually is "hi" at the start, and sometimes not even that, maybe a "GG" at the end. There's not much if any helping going on. Maybe a quick "Who wants to main tank" conversation. Those are not the people who will calmly and politely explain how to get better.

    I really disagree on that.
I'm one of those that don't start a conversation in DF. I don't care, i don't know if others whould like it and i'm not a talkative person even in real life. So in DF i just noramlly shut up. But I answer if others start a conversation and if i see someone in need of explenation i give it out (i hope) nicely

Like yesterday. I was DR low level as tank 41. I got tam tara (again...). We started and healer goes on and pull more mobs. I get aggro and me and healer get to hold on nicely so we started doing the dungeon with multiple pulls. I was with a THM and a LNC. I don't know LNC as class but i saw the THM using fire with 6+ mobs. I asked "Fire 2 plz" and the answer was "No.". It got me off balance, we made it to first boss, i saw that the enimity built from other 2 where almost null. I was getting maim up then spam OP unless out of TP then i stayed put until full TP again (defensive cooldowns when avaible obviusly) and when i was full TP their aggro was not even 1/4. After first boss i said that Fire 2 on 6 mobs was better then fire. The answer was "I know". It was getting me mad and i asked why he used fire then. He answered that he didn't want to "waste" his rested bonus on that dungeon and i had to deal with himplay that way or kick him. I could comply with his request, his attitude was pushing me to do so but it was clear he didn't know how the rested bonus worked so i keeped calm and explained. After that he started use fire 2 sometimes. Their aggro still sucked and LNC was able to be close out from final boss. It was a painful run but i didn't kick anyone even if they sucked and THM was rude even if i'm not a talkative type and i usually don't chat asaid for hi or gg

So don't make generic, stupid and wrong assumptions

@Nyyy Is that the only thing you read from my post? I said that if you're really underperforming, ok, I get it.... It can be frustrating. However if it's just a tiny bit to where there's no significant change except maybe a few extra minutes by the time you're done, then kicking someone or even complaining about it is a tad elitist.
Also, comparing an online game to football? Really?

I've played football quite a bit with friends as a hobby and guess what? I suck at it. No one ever bitches when I'm on their team, and no one has ever kicked me. Because there is nothing at stake, we have a good time and have good laughs.
Now as a job, when you're getting PAID to play well, then I'm guessing you can and will be kicked off a team if you just start sucking horribly.
Online games aren't just a hobby, they're a hobby you pay for. No one should be getting mistreated online and or excluded from content just because you're an elitist.

You know what you CAN do though? You can gtfo.
