Huh? No. Mug deals damage in addition to stealing the item. That's a big difference.
Okay, I'll grant that you didn't mention that thieves in all games having Treasure Hunt. You're still wrong about Mug, despite Nero's attempts to redefine Mug.
Mug is stealing gil and you can steal gil in tactics but the attack is just named differently than Mug. Your point is invalid but you just want to argue even when you are wrong.
Oh I'm wrong?

Oh you mean you are wrong. Ok than if that is the case yes you are because Mug doesn't do damage and steals gil in the MMO version leaving you wrong.Job Ability

You are trying to get away from your argument..Tactics had said Abilities, which you denied.
But since you obviously like get away from initial statements:
Mug: FF5 Attack and steal, FF9 Attack and steal, FF10 Attack and steal, FF11 Gil Steal... to name a couple and it does what i said; Stealing Items. Does it additional Damage? Yeah, still stealing Items tho, which is typical for THF's and no other Class.
It would be nice if we could get a Devs to confirm if there are no plans to add a Thief Job into the game because of the Rogue class existing.
Is the Rogue class the FFXIV ARR's version of the Thief job describe in this link: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Thief_(Job)?
Is the Thief job ruled out of being added into FFXIV ARR because of lore reasons?
-----------------------------
Additional Questions I have that I would like answers to but don't mind if not to be answered:
Should people see the Ninja Job in FFXIV ARR as a Thief Job instead because the class that Ninja job comes from is named Rogue?
Why do city states like Limsa allow Pirates to roam freely and even participate in army campaigns but Thieves are not allow to be in the city?

I love when people take how an abilty that exist in SEVERAL FF works in ONE FF and act like it work like that in all others.
Holy shifting goalposts. . .Mug is stealing gil and you can steal gil in tactics but the attack is just named differently than Mug. Your point is invalid but you just want to argue even when you are wrong.

You say that Thieves can Mug in "every FF."
You don't clarify what you mean when you say Mug, though.
I point out that FF Tactics has no Mug ability.
I then go on to point out that by Mug I mean Steal+Attack.
You then redefine Mug as Steal Gil, based on its implementation in FFXI.
You then claim that, based on this definition, Mug is in every FF.
I mean, I guess it works if you're willing to arbitrarily pick which game you want to base things off of. If you really want to pick the only game where Mug doesn't do damage and pretend that it makes Mug the same as Steal Gil, I can't really stop you. On the other hand, I'm certainly not going to agree with you.

Mug: FFIV (Remakes) Attack and Steal
FFV Attack and Steal
FFVI Attack and Steal
FFVII Attack and Steal
FFVIII Attack and Steal
FFIX Attack and Steal
FFX Attack and Steal
FFXI Steal Gil
FFTA Attack and Steal Gil (not even a Thief ability in this game)
FFTA2 Attack and Steal (or in this game)
You can't just ignore half of what an attack does and claim that it's the same as some other ability. That's like saying that Flare and Holy are the same thing because they both deal damage. >_>
Yet Rogue and Thief are the same because they're both agile, and that's OK. The hypocrisy in this thread is amusing.
You really sound silly going on a major tyrant about Mug only because you were proven wrong when it comes to Treasure Hunter. Everyone here sees you are grasping at straws just to continue to argue. None of this even addresses the most important thing which is wanting Thief Job in this game. Your posts are taking the conversation off target.Holy shifting goalposts. . .

I've never said that. >_>
I'd hardly call this a "tirade." Honestly, I'm just bored and using this as something to do. And the only thing I was "proven wrong" about in regards to Treasure Hunt was that I'd claimed you mentioned it (kinda). I'm not grasping at straws so much as wondering why the two of you both want to ignore what Mug does in most of the games it's in.You really sound silly going on a major tyrant about Mug only because you were proven wrong when it comes to Treasure Hunter. I haven't been adressing the issue of a possible THF job because I really don't have a stake in the matter.
Thank you for explaining that you are trolling.I've never said that. >_>
