Because you're already getting thief with a different name. Adding jobs of different roles is more beneficial to everyone overall rather than overstuffing one role when you already have something that plays exactly as the job you already want. Its an MMO, and you are not the only one who paid to enjoy it.

After you hit level 30 you can't play Rogue, do you understand that people want to play Thief beyond level 30 with Thief skills like treasure hunter, steal, mug, trick and sneak attack like attacks as well? It isn't just a renamed Thief because it hasn't shown us that it can steal and I dont think it will from the video. Why do you have a problem with Thief being added in the game when it will not harm or effect anyone else's play style?

All you're getting at is "I want to play the exact same class that was in Final Fantasy XI!" And normally i HATE this excuse/reasoning, but it the most apt response. This isn't FFXI. It never will be and any similarities that make one think it can, are merely coincidence and/or homage to it, nothing more.

I never said I wanted to make this game into FFXI. I just want to play Thief as a job. Thief is in more games than FFXI.

If Blackmage wasn't in the game and someone asked for it to be added as a job are you going to accuse them of trying to make the game into FFXI? No, you would think that is a logical request. So is asking for Thief to be a job.

At the moment Yoshi P is saying Rogue is this games version of the Thief and there will be no job version. I think I saw it in a interview this morning on reddit. No one is saying this job or that job is more important.

All Thieves steal, mug and do tricks in every FF. How is that asking to make it like FFXI. I said sneak and trick-like. Not "trick attack" or "sneak attack".

But that's not what's happening here. The entire thread's "argument" aspect stems from Rogue not becoming Thief. Not "this class doesn't exist, please add it".

Rogue is a class. It will only be played up until level 30. I would like to keep playing a Thief job beyond level 30.
