Actually, solo queue (assuming you win) nets you 100% rewards, while grouping only gets you 50%. As with most of XIV (that isn't "hardcore" endgame), Yoshida would rather you play with completely random people for better rewards than enjoy the game with friends.

we're talking light party queues, which give you the exact same rewards as if you were alone.
