Yeah, going to have to say you're not going to get much of a response in the section you made that. Nor do "petition" threads get any sort of special treatment. If anything they tend to be ignored or locked because people blow things way out of portion or go off topic.
I personally am on the side of the camp that thinks the drop drop rate is totally fine. A little rng never hurt anyone (sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't). I like the idea that you can't get everything done a couple of days after a patch. I'm here for the long haul so I expect the game to be have grinding options. I do have to say, that I think SE spoiled the players thinking that the relic upgrade process (based on 2.0 release) was always going to be easy. 1.0 players knew the frustration in trying upgrading their relics. I suspect as the game continues and more quests get added to the relic line that a smaller and smaller population will have all relics fully upgraded, and that I personally feel is fine.

Anyways, happy hunting folks!
I hope that it will either have an increased drop rate, or have a hidden counter that gives you the atma after X amount of fates done if you still didnt get one *like 50 or so*... but only once a day or something...
Its not even a week since the patch was done and people are already posting pictures of their new Atma weapons. Seems like the drop rate is just fine to me.
That's kinda the problem.. actually. Those people with those weapons, didn't earn those through skill or dedication. They got extremely lucky. For every one of them, there's some guy/girl who has been FATE grinding for 24 hours (likely more than any one of the people with the Atma weapons put in) without a single Atma drop on the forums as well. What people in this thread are asking for is a system that keeps the time investment so that people don't have them the day the patch comes out (maybe not even the week the patch comes out, without putting in some serious hours), but that also rewards the time you've put in consistently by showing you're making progress. Like the whole second step of the quest (the one where you actually upgrade the stats, not just change the look of the gear and artificially inflate the ilvl).
Why is every post suddenly made by Naoki_Yoshida?
Currently on 4 atma after 5 or so days, today was ridiculous with at least 50 FATEs done and not a single drop. I can't imagine how lucky others got so soon for their Atma weapons.
At this time, I had flashbacks to Mee Degi from XI, obviously the drop rates are probably not gonna be *THAT* bad, but its still not cool to make me remember that. =/

People keep comparing it to spawn camping in XI, but it's totally not the same. Spawn camping is boring and has a low drop rate, but at least while you're doing that you can do something else. I used my spawn camping time to get RL work done and socialize with other players, and so my memories of that time are not bad ones (though I honestly wouldn't want to go back to that system, at least not for top-end gear). FATEs, on the other hand, require you to be constantly running around a zone, which negates any ability to do something else, including socializing with other players. If you stop running to type anything, you're going to be late to the next FATE and not get gold, which takes your drop chance from 1% to 0%.
I've finished my atma grind for monk, but I absolutely hated it. It took me 264 fates to get the last 9 (I wasn't counting during the first 3). The time it took was fine, what was not fine was how boring it was.
Now that I have my first book though, I must say it is awesome. Everything about the book portion is amazing. I like the customizable, incremental upgrades. I love the art inside them, I love that you can even open the books up in the first place. And, most of all, I like that the tasks they send you on have variety. Its a shame such a cool upgrade system is locked behind such a dull and meaningless grind.
Questing is like participating in an Old Spice Commercial - Talk to me, talk to him, talk to me, talk to him, Now Talk To Me...Sadly, you are not done, back to him, look there, its that mob I never liked, back to me, back to him...I'm in the Waking Sands.
