That would have been great too. Have 12 new Hydra-ish bosses that players need to form a group for and then farm for the piece.
I'd rather earn my weapons by actually playing the game instead of rolling dice for hours on end.
When I have to gather 8 capable players to defeat the 3 EX Primal battles for my ultimate weapon, I feel like i've earned it.
When I have to kill trash enemies for hours on end and pray my weapon drops, and then waste 2 months worth of currency to upgrade it, I feel like i've been carrot-sticked.
If I have nothing to do, i'll just log off and do something else. Why do so many players need to have that illusion of progress that pure RNG gives? It's just so time consuming and worthless, and worst of all, it encourages the game developers to get extremely lazy.

You guys have had LESS THAN A DAY to play the content, and you're already calling it the worst thing ever? Yikes. Then again, I shouldn't have expected any other reaction since this is an MMORPG community.
It's an option. Go get a Leviathan weapon and upgrade it, or a Weathered weapon and upgrade it, or if you're really good, beat T9.
"Fates are dumb and boring!"
*SE makes fates not as viable for leveling
"NOBODY DOES FATES ANYMORE WFT SE"
*se makes those fates a critical part of a new high level weapon
"SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSQQQQQQQQQUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!"
This sounds a lot like the relic reborn quest. chimera, hydra, ifrit, garuda, titan. do the same thing times two or three for atma? the current atma quest is at least different than the relic reborn quest.
i hate casuals but i love time sinks.
this is exactly what i wanted.
