This game was so bad and easy and casual before Square finally put some hardcore RNG in here for all us truly skillful players with nothing to do for hours on end

People wanted an FFXI-style relic grind and now they got it. Too bad so sad. Stop whining.
PS I love grinding, so I can't wait to get this weapon before all of you guys who gave up after the first fate.

We have the grindy weapons the oldschool KMMOers wanted, and then we have the regular 2.0 Relics that the oldschoolers said was too easy. Best of both worlds, honestly. I doubt the grindy relic will be much more powerful than the ones earned the regular way.
But all of you complaining should know, this is 100% absolutely positively the bitching community's fault entirely.
Long, arduous, time dedication, random drops, teams of people working together (or at least all doing the same thing), frustration, fulfillment, couple with many different parts that are out and more to come later on....
I actually like the idea. It is something that will not be completed by everyone in this patch, and additionally will not be completed by and for every character that everyone has already gotten a relic with.
As someone mentioned earlier, they would really have to rework the entire fighting system and game to make it any different.
Maybe I haven't played MMOs long enough to have built up frustration; but I know you can't have it both ways: short and sweet, or long and taxing.
I'd prefer the long and taxing. At least you will have something to do every hour of every day you log in.
Is that it uses pre-existing fates. I realize this was probably done in order to make low level fates populated again, but if they would have added 12 new level 50 boss fates with bosses relevant to the piece (Atma of the Bull = Minotaur, etc), then it would have felt like actual new content even if they kept the low drop rate. I'd rather join 7 others waiting for a new boss fate to spawn (and camping it for a few hours), than having to ride around mindlessly zerging fates a lot of us have already done countless times before.
I'm not really complaining, so much as I'm trying to critique their technique for further updates to content. If you're going to give us fate based content, make some new fates that are more involved than simply closing your eyes and pressing your buttons.
So to the FFXIV community boring and tedious activities constitutes a challenge? Really!?People: SE we need something more difficult for relic/zenith/zodiac. Its just too easy to get which lessens the since of accomplishment.

unless the bosses use new attacks and have actual attack patterns, i really don't see the difference.
They should stick to Chimera/Hydra type fights for these types of quests. They're challenging and way more fun to go up against.
i see your point. It is a valid criticism. However new fates wouldn't close the "perceived" gap of new players who choose to fate grind in order to level. Under this system the possibilities of a new player (or a lowbie) getting random assistance from a veteran is higher than if newer fates were made.
