Its true that you don't need to be corrupted by the Ascians to summon primals (They just know the 'best' way to do so). However, we don't have any crystals beside's the primal crystal drops, which you can't actually use because they need to stay intact for the story. Also, there is, to my knowledge, no examples of Summoner's being able to bring forth Primals by themselves. The story implies that Summoners of old could group together to summon full fledged primals, but they did so exactly like the Beast Tribes do - By collecting massive amounts of crystals (Think 50 dump trucks, not what you can fit in your backpack) and through distributive summoning (More Summoners then you can actually fit into a party).

If you have lore proof to the contrary, please provide it. Otherwise, you're just making things up.

Buffing the pet and nerfing the Summoner is something we don't want. Unless you can provide balancing reasons to do so, this is just a personal wish that'll never happen.

As for the design, no. The Egis are 'Essence of Primal' (Which is exactly what they look like), not mini Primals. Carbuncles look more detailed because it is what it is - a very specific, designed to the detail construct.
